We had to put a piece of PVC through my basement wall to act as a liner for 2 smaller pipes. It’s about 8-12 inches below grade. We put hydraulic cement around it and let it cure and when we started pushing the other pipes through the PVC moved. The cement didn’t bond. Reading online it’s saying it’s a good product to use but because it lacks any chemical bond it may break down or not adhere well.

Should I use a polymer sealant? Or putty? Any suggestions?

I have Sikaflex non sag construction sealant for this exact application, but there was a gap for it to go into.

I don’t really have a gap. Idk what the bits called but the pipe was 2.5” and the block bit I had in the hammer drill was about the same size, it’s not a tight fit but it’s not loose.

Mine was a 4in S&D pipe through a 4-1/2in hole bored through solid concrete, so there was plenty of gap and bearing surface for the sealant to hold into it. I don’t know for sure if there will be enough material to grab on to your pipe, Maybe, if you apply the sealant at both ends with a good sized fillet.

Ok mine is 2.5” pipe with a 2-⁵⁄₈ hole if it’s even that big. I don’t wanna call it a surface sealant but that’s really about what it is.

Hydraulic cement expands as it cures so it’s great for filling gaps but yeah it doesn’t stick to PVC at all. I’d chip out what you have and use a polyurethane sealant instead, it’ll actually adhere to both the pipe and the concrete. Just pack some backer rod in first if the gap is wide enough.

You need a product called a link seal but I’m not sure you can use it with two pipes inside one sleeve

I don’t have that kind of space. It’s a tight fit and that seal is bulky

They make them to fit certain pipe size combos. There is certainly a chance you don’t have clearance but that is the proper product for sealing off sleeves.
