Amateur seat repair
Did you do that in situ or remove the seat cover to work on it?
I had to remove it and did it by hand. Luckily it was very easy to remove from this old seat. Like 10min to get the seat out and unwrapped. I’m not good at sewing at all and had a crappy needle so it was a pain in the ass but I got it done in a couple of hours.
I bought some scrap vinyl and folded it on itself to recreate the missing section of tube along the corner. You can’t really see it in this pic but it’s a totally different color and my stitching is pretty loose around there. But it’s good enough - much better than the gorilla tape I’ve been rocking the few years I’ve had the vehicle. We’ll see if it lasts.
this was a first for me.
That corner stitch requires a machine, I’m almost certain. So it would have to be removed.
Steam and a hog ring plyer is all you need.
I did it with a needle and thread lol. The results are iffy but it’ll do.
Oh wow, I hope you had a thimble.
it made a whole world of difference.
Nicely done!
Not bad
This reminds me of the Vinyl Mender commercials from the late ‘80s.
These are skills I wish I had.
good job
