Trying to figure out what this is or who to call to look at it.
We closed on our first home late September and are now getting around to doing some projects. The first one is the kitchen.
We started removing cabinets and found this in the corner of the house. It looks and smells earthy like soil, it doesn’t feel wet or moist, this is the only place I found it after all the cabinets in the kitchen were removed. There is a ground level planter on the other side of the wall. The backyard hose also hangs on the other side of the wall.
I am worried that there might be some sort of foundation issue or a crack in the cinder block but nothing is visible on the outside.
I am worried about it being termites too but I didn’t see any signs of wings and the cabinet that was in that corner was intact MDF.
