What the World Series looks and feels like on Canadian TV

I’m assuming most people on here know what the American pre-show and game looks like on FOX, but under increased scrutiny over AI graphics and odd production choices, I thought I’d highlight what the Canadian broadcast looks and feels like - before first pitch, they send it to the MLB International production, but there are some commercial breaks where it’s the desk instead of commercials.

I wish it was Fleming calling it solo. Spilbotghs adds nothing and is just obnoxious most of the time, talking in moments that just need space. Mildly less annoying than the baseball hater on Fox.

I like Joe Davis but Fox feeds are terrible A/V quality for me. Also I don’t think Americans realise how insane their commercials are: prescription drugs, fast food, health insurance and absolutely ridiculous political attack ads.

Both scorebugs suck. Hate the Fox 3d bases and the oversized International sea of black

The best part about the 2025 World Series was watching everything through Sportsnet instead of watching through Fox. It was such a superior viewing experience.

I feel like I’ll be thinking about that series the rest of my life. I was lucky to get a face value GA ticket for Game 2, to say I went to a World Series game and all I had to do was hop on the train for an hour was a really awesome moment of my life I’ll be glad I experienced forever. But man, if only they pulled it off in Game 7. It was a wild ride, over time I think I’ll come to appreciate it more, but it still stings right now.

Even just bringing family to the Game 4 Watch Party there was awesome. Wicked low seats for $15 each, obv because it was an away game, but the energy in there was unbelievable.

Not winning it for Buck is by far the worst part of last year. I’m young, the team might get there again in my lifetime. But to be that close in Buck’s final year with the team and miss it is a heartbreak that can never be healed.

I agree, wholeheartedly. I very much preferred the Sportsnet broadcast. I did watch some on Fox, but very little. I couldn’t have cared less which team won. The baseball was great.

The sound was better on fox I will say. I didn’t care for the scorebug or anything else I mean other than Derek Jeter being so visibly irritated by david ortiz having fin and arod of all people kind of getting into the fun.

I don’t want to glaze Sportsnet, and especially not Rogers, but honestly, it’s a pretty great experience for playoff baseball. One subscription to Sportsnet+ (I don’t have or want cable) and I get all the playoff games, the World Series, and none of the ads, or John Smoltz, that everyone in the game thread is complaining about.

Last night at the ninth inning I switched to TNT Sports 1 UK that carried the Fleming and Spilbougs feed, they were certainly an easier listen than the Fox crew.
