Can someone explain to me why every single baseball team logo ever is just letters while other sports have other kinds of logos?
More detailed logos look kinda weird on a cap. Also, saying that every single baseball team logo ever is just letters is an exaggeration but I can see where you’re coming from.

Baseball is super old. It’s honestly on par with English soccer. Back in the late 1800s, intricate logos were harder to make. It was easier and cheaper to sew a letter on a hat rather than have multiple small crests embroidered or stitched. It became tradition.
Would it also be due to them being for sale as merch compared to something like a cricket cap? The latter is why it’s called getting a cap for playing in your national team as you were issued a new one for each test tour

Baseball in Uganda has been growing a lot. Its been integrated as a school sport there. A little league world series team from Uganda even won a game in 2012 against Oregon. Several players from Uganda have signed MLB contracts and the Dodgers have an academy there.
USA has never looked good IMO. Seriously hoping for an update next time.

I was gonna say the same thing. It reminds of a carnival cruise ship from the 90s. Just way too much going on. Personally, I wouldn’t mind a minimalistic waving flag design or maybe a bald eagle.

Dominican Republic and South Africa are simple, but they look like classic MLB cap logos. I really like Australiaās and New Zealandās
I do like the Netherlands crown logo actually it was just super small and I forgot about it. So I shouldnt be too critical.

Its a bit simple to me but some people like that. Can be considered “cleaner” than a more busy design.
Just now I was looking at them and thought New Zealand had one that was interesting and I was re designing it in my head. I was thinking what if they just did the same font for both the N and the Z and it just looked like it tipped over. Then I was like oh maybe you could then combine it for something like the South African logo and I realized I was just creating a MFing swastika and I immediately abandoned the idea.

Nothing inherently wrong with a more simple design, I mean hell most MLB cap logos are very simple and popular. Mexicoās logo is good enough where Iāve seen a lot of other Mexicans who donāt even watch baseball or really know where the logo originates still buy hats with the logo just because it looks really cool
Yeah, compared to other Canadian national team logos, Baseball Canada may have my least favourite.

They just released that new logo a few months ago
They donāt use that anymore cuz the country internationally refers to themselves as Czechia instead of Czech Republic and they wanted a logo to reflect that change

China, Australia, NZ, and Mexico are probably my faves. SK good as well. Dutch get points for being unique, Canada for having a baseball in the logo. Lots of meh otherwise and a couple bad ones. USA logo is dire imo.
Italy is among the worst. I know they are going for the Roman column but it doesnāt look similar enough. They shouldāve added a couple of white lines in the middle similar to Mexicoās.
That China Dragon logo is among the best logos I’ve ever seen. Of all the hats I own, the 2023 team China WBC hat is up there with my favorite

Maybe easy team identification? Cardinals can go for either football or baseball, different teams from different states; they are both logos though.
