They did something similar with varashta didnt they? Albeit that was an ascendancy

I agree, for some reason they chose druid over it.And frankly druid does have stuff on par to sell like a unique animation system.

Totally agree that a holy archetype needs to be in the game, and I’m sure it will at some point. Remember when Blizz added Paladin to D4? That season was gangbusters for the company. The class was a huge draw.

My (very) cynical take is that they’re saving Pally for when they think the game needs a big lift. But I hope it’s delivered with the 1.0 update

It’s the primary reason that I’m not playing right now.

I hope the reason is so they can add a new damage type: Holy!

honestly I don’t mind, the later weapons they’re releasing tend to have much more interesting and elaborate stuff going on, so I’m happy letting them cook as long as they like

Well, given how bad the druids defenses are atm, I’m not shocked they havent figured out how to implement a block heavy spell caster that leverages ar/es and make it feel good. Hell even the sorc doesn’t feel great atm

Im not so in the loop of things, have they confirmed that all we are getting for 1.0 is swords and a new class?

I thought 1.0 means finished product, i was expecting every class/asc/weapon/skill to be in the official release.

But i guess im just filled with copium?

Do classes really matter that much? It’s just a few limited passive choices then all the same no?

It might be here , remember they told us they will show us this at the exile con, afaik the right one looks like a Templar or equivalent

who needs two normal melee classes… I wanna holy skills, daggers and MINES/TRAPS!

yeah, i just cannot get hooked, because my main two archetypes are not there yet.

Templar and Shadow would almost certainly come first based on what we know about development progress

we know nothing about development progress of marauder/templar/shadow (except that they’ll come after the duelist)

well based on what we know of the development. Axes are going to focus on throwing them. (thats from the in game information box).

they stated multiple times that druid was the hardest class to get working due to the nature of transformations (notice how it was at exilecon prior to the beta release, then took over a year to come into the game…despite being the first class they showcased.

Using that information we can deduce that swords is likely the second hardest for them, because they wanted to get the animations right. Daggers would be a natural next step after swords since it’ll likely use the same animations, because afterall a dagger is just a shorter sword. Claws will likely use the unarmed animations, but i feel like claws and talismans have too much overlap. what i mean is that the shapeshifted beasts are using their claws to attack. Looking at the list of missing weapon types my guess would be this order:Swords (1h and 2h) > Claws/Daggers (together) > Flails > Traps > Axes (1h 2h)

Out of all the games i play this one has my favorite “problem” the devs try to hard and i love that.

I mean I’m okay with saying 0.5.5 added nothing new, but you can’t say 0.5 didn’t add anything new. Even if it was rehashed concepts from Poe 1 they play very differently.

Also adding a class isn’t a basic thing in this game, it’s probably the single most time consuming and difficult thing for them to add since the game is balanced around the character and not the other way around.

Idk I feel liek most of the crit nodes on the tree are there alone with every ev/es node it’s been the most popular side of the tree in early leagues

leaving templar out of 1.0 is such a big mistake imo.

These guys always over deliver?Sure the updates are usually bangers but if we are going by what they say they are going to drop they have been under delivering way more often here lately.
