Misiorowski has pitched 100+ mph over 1000 times.
Surely this will have no impact on his elbow in 5 years
I saw someone say his elbow is going to be spaghetti 😭
His palms are sweaty, knees week, arms are heavy
Pitching fast balls until his arm’s spaghetti 🫠
Whoever cuts their spaghetti like that is going to have some angry Italians showing up at their door
That’s a five years from now problem
Exactly, we’re in the World Series today.
Skeenes seems in trouble already and he’s not at 5 years
Strider seems blown out in like 3
Give the city it’s first ring and it doesn’t even matter, dude will be set for life.
He’ll be a prince in that town
I’m sure that’ll ease the chronic pain
That and the millions of dollars
Good will and local legend status doesn’t hit the bank account like high level longevity does.
surely there’s some breweries willing to pay him
Interestingly I was just talking with a friend about this, who knows a doctor who has worked with Miz in the offseason with a new training program meant to assist some mechanic correction and more importantly UCL health/durability. He’s def an injury risk but they’re doing as much as possible to mitigate it.
Part of the reason I’m rooting for the Brewers to win at least one over the next few years. I don’t think this is a sustainable approach for starting pitcher longevity.
5? Half it and give it to Ohtani
inb4 the Aroldis Chapman comment comes true lol
That’s fine, we’ll take him for the little time we get
There’s too many people asking this question rather than just what if he keeps this up for 10 yrs
No one keeps that up for ten years
Edit
One guy in the history of baseball did it, my bad
Nolan Ryan out pitched until he was nearly 50 and was still throwing mid 90s by the time he retired.
It’s unusual sure but it’s not unprecedented.
I suppose we will check back in 24 years to see how the Miz is doing
3 years
1 or 2 years if he’s lucky
Waiting for the inevitable Jon Bois graph that lists all teams’ 100+ MPH pitches this year and among them is “Jacob Misiorowski, an individual”.
The second highest team total was the Padres with 753.
The majority of which would be, ‘Mason Miller, an individual’.
The Jay Cuda “how many 100mph+ pitches have you made?” Venn diagrams is where it’s at
Ok so real talk. For a pitcher of his caliber what happens if the Brewers win it all? Does he eventually change his pitching for longevity, or just ride off into the sunset after a few more solid years?
Well.
He’s definitionally a unicorn, so contrary to everyone stating they predict his eventual TJ every time he pitches or any of his stats are mentioned, no one actually knows shit.
“Let me tell you something about baseball: No one knows f***ing anything.”-William Contreras, lol
I mean we know no one has ever sustained it without TJ
Maybe he’s a unicorn but how much time does that buy him? Ohtani’s a unicorn and that hasn’t stopped his body from starting to break down from it
and to emphasise the point: yes Chapman is a guy who’s capable of similar velo and has never had a serious arm or shoulder injury, but his highest single season total pitch count was 1203 in his 3rd MLB season at age 24.
He’s averaged 885 pitches per year. In his age 24 season (this year), Mis has thrown 2646 pitches so far. It’s just not comparable.
Nolan Ryan seemed to do alright throwing high heat forever. 27 seasons to age 46 seems like a good run.
Ohtani is 32, Miz is 24. Almost every player is more injured more often as they age.
I’m just going to enjoy living in the now, thanks
he’s not definitionally a unicorn, he’s definitionally a human being.
I agree I don’t think his arm is going to explode out of nowhere. And surely he has the best training staff surrounding him. its interesting to see, I hope you guys win a WS and he can be on a GOAT pitching trajectory
With a unanimous cy young + a World Series (or honestly wether they win or lose) Brewers will be able to fully commit to his load management. They already got a lot of grief for limiting his innings in the season, but this playoff run has shown how important that was. Maybe let him chase a no hitter or perfect game when he gets the chances but no need to kill his arm.
thinks back to Tim Lincecum
He said he wanted to throw 130 pitches. I think the injury risk is overblown anyway, except to his legs
In face you undersold that by more than 10%….I would have preferred over 1111 times with a clip of the 1111.
I think it would be cool if Miz ended up having Arnoldis Chapman’s unsnappable UCL.
Seconded.
Lets see if hes the new nolan ryan
Useless stat. They might as well count each city’s days above 100 degrees.
And this new Hot Day stat determines playoff seeding, correct?
I have a shirt on it that says something like “Baseball Nerd. Ask Me About Useless Information”
Adding this stat to my book of useless information.
That’s true, Moto! This guy has the power of the sun behind his pitches! ☀️🔥
I strongly dislike miz and his ridiculous pitching
somebody chose violence today
flair says it all. At least you are honest
I hurt my elbow looking at this graphic
As long as his elbow holds out til they win it all, it’ll be worth the damage. Right?
I’m gonna go out on a limb here and say that’s all Brody Hopkins
The stable of pitchers who throw 98, but not quite 100!
I bet Nolan Ryan probably had more pitches over 100 mph in a season many times. No one knows what will happen to his arm, but hopefully he stays healthy so everyone can enjoy his career
So how much longer can he keep this up before his arm just explodes?
Jacob DeGrom Part II
That’s doesn’t seem healthy
This kids elbow HAS screaming at him constantly right?
