During their Heat tenures they’ve hinted at the organization giving bias towards Bam & letting him be the golden boy of the Heat organization. Yet even though him & Giannis aren’t that good of a fit, we’re seeing with two teams on opposite ends of the spectrum (a good team in the Wolves & a tanking team in the Bucks) how the Heat look dysfunctional outside of Giannis

Jimmy & Tyler were more consistent and I honestly feel on the Heats side they should’ve shopped Bam & possibly look for a 3rd team if they wanted Giannis so they could keep Jaime & Herro who are better fits for Giannis

Everyone pretends like Jimmy was carrying the ‘18 Cavs to the Finals. He had an all-time great HC in Spo and a great defensive player in Bam. In 2020, Bam was outright the better player in the ECF against the Celtics. Not to mention, kinda sucked in the regular season too, which definitely could’ve made their playoff runs a bit easier.

Jimmy is known as a pretty big culture and locker room guy, to a fault at times like with what he did with the Timberwolves. I know at the end Bam was named captain like when Jimmy left in 2025, but you can’t tell me in 2020 in the bubble Finals run, Bam was already the clear leader over Jimmy already.

They’re not weak at rim protection per se, they’re just both much better as weak side defenders coming in once the a player makes his first move. When Lopez went out, we saw that Giannis isn’t as good when he had to be the primary big defender and Bam has always been a tweener in that role while being really good at secondary rim protection.
