The first probably 60-70% of the season i kept expecting them to blow it/not be able to come back.

This was me in ‘21 when my Braves won. I didn’t even exist for the 90’s teams (born in ‘01), so all my life leading up to that point was Atlanta Playoff Futility (a dark train of thought the Falcons especially really haven’t helped).
I kept bracing for impact that playoffs…but then it never came. The world series champions hoodie I have from it is what keeps me grounded in reality knowing that us pulling it off wasn’t a fever-dream glitch in the Atlanta Sports Depression matrix.

This team reminds me of the Bucks in ‘21 and Packers in ‘10. Like nothing can stop them. I could be wrong, its a long series. But I have felt this way since they took game 1 of the Dodgers series. They are a different team than years past.

It’s more that we’ve been here so many times and lost that it’s actually not a big deal at this point.
I, personally, get all of the highs from winning but barely feel the lows at this point. It was the Packers/Seahawks followed by Wisconsin/Duke that broke me and set me free.
After that I was able to just appreciate the success of the Brewers with their small payroll instead of fixating on what they weren’t.
They’ll be many more palpitations to come

Murphy said he has coached all the pitchers to assume challenges get overturned. He didn’t even engage Contreras after. Murphy has ingrained in all their minds to never flinch.
I don’t know if it’s standard practice for pitchers, but you could see Megill in the background pitching to Contreras while the challenge was ongoing. No clue who initiated that (Contreras or Megill), but it just shows neither of them were going to stop until it was official.
