https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nba/2026/10/23/nba-contracts-free-agency-trade-rumors-towns-durant-giannis-davis/92250177007/

The Heat traded Herro, Jaquez, Ware, Jakučionis, and multiple 1sts for a potential one-year rental if Giannis decides to walk this summer. It is not the first time a superstar leaves a team in free agency a year after from being traded, like Dwight Howard leaving the Lakers.

Should Miami fans be worried?

Omg stfu with this shit. Giannis wanted out forever, and just prolonged this shit. If he didn’t, he would still be in Milwaukee.

Giannis just says shit like this sometimes. It’s why being a Bucks fan had been so nerve wracking post championship.

CoogiMonster | HOU

12 | a day ago

Because he’s fucking annoying about this stuff, as we’ve seen the last couple years in Milwaukee… he wants to keep leverage and he loses that if he talks like he’s going to be in Miami for a half decade. Same old dog and pony bullshit but OP gets to make it seem worse because the Heat struggled through 2 games

This was said in preseason before their regular season woes. Miami fans aren’t worried about it, but more so how shit the team is doing to begin this year. Giannis should walk end of year if a trade isn’t made to bring in another shot creator. Bam is utterly useless at this point.

Tbh I kinda called it. This roster around Giannis was never good enough to truly compete for a ring, and him walking when his contract is up isn’t gonna be too surprising cause we also don’t exactly have the assets to actually build around him

Then again this could be a blessing in disguise. This could be the move that makes this team re-think its outdated team building philosophy

He gone

[Giannotto] Antetokounmpo had an intriguing response while discussing his future and the move to Miami. “I want when this chapter is over, if I’m only going to be here a year or two, whatever it’s going to be, I want to leave my mark,” Antetokounmpo said.
