Now you know our frustration. 8 out of 10 times, this is either points or a trip to the free throw line. Mitch is bad at drawing up action that gets Wemby running to the rim outside of transition.
I mean this is a pretty intensive play on Wemby’s body. If you spammed this play 10 times a game x the whatever games he plays this year, that’s a ton of big impacts and injury risk. Hes not built like Deandre Jordan.
I’m convinced they are using these early games as practice to work on their weak spots. Which is so fucking frustrating to watch, but it makes more sense than thinking nobody on that team knows better.
Because NBA defenders are good and they adapt to the situation. Also lobs are hard to throw, that was the perfect pass.
Every team knows this is the number one thing they have to worry about and the assigned defender is prepared for it. Marcus’ number one job is to keep in front of Wemby so that he doesn’t slip to the rim. He loses Wemby for a moment here, it happens from time to time, but usually he’s gonna make it much harder for Wemby.
