The Knicks are a testament to that.

“Pistons will take a step back” was pretty much the consensus among NBA “experts” before last season. And we won 60 games. Not surprising to see the Pistons underrated by most again. I by no means think we’re world beaters and we have some issues that need to be ironed out but definitely think better than many people have given credit for.

Also no JD or Ausar for half the game.

Serious in the east fr

I feel like Cade always gets off to a slow start then gets back into shape as the season progresses. He really needs to get the damn turnovers under control though.

Spurs aren’t even top 2 contenders in the west. Its wolves this year

It’s the regular season

This is exactly what Pistons fans have been saying for 2 years, but it doesn’t work in the playoffs

Also 1 win away from the ECF despite their 1st team all NBA star is playing with a collapsed lung

I think Tobias Harris was great when we really didn’t have any fire power but I think him leaving kind of sped up the game. Huerter actually looks like a good pick now that he’s not injured. We’ve got a lot of 3 point power not just Duncan Robinson anymore and that gives Cade a little more breathing to facilitate more and not be so dependent as our main option. I like that Holland and BBall Paul have gotten a lot more involved. We haven’t really even tapped into utilizing Okorie. Our pickups looked meh when they happened but dang Collins, Isaiah Joe look great. I think they worked out better for us than I would’ve originally thought. I’m pleasantly surprised. Even with half a splash brother and the Greek freak and Bam on the floor we pummeled the heat. Can’t wait to see what we can do against LeBron, Maxey and JB.

We also whooped the knicks in the regular season. Sad the playoffs fizzled out.

Gotta take your lumps in the playoffs before guys are ready for the moment. Cade and during were what 23 and 22?

The team that beat them got swept. They were not contenders

Paul reed just gave a chuckle out of no where because of this comment.

Yeah, it was deep last year.

The bench doesn’t play when the other teams starters do though. And in the playoffs that’s over 30 minutes.

We might swing a big bat but we have the problem of it not being top heavy enough, surprisingly.

I think so, too. They’ve been a young, rebuilding team so far that’s needed playoff experience on their young core. OKC needed the same with theirs before they began true contention.

The only question will be on Bickerstaff. Can he unlock their postseason potential, or will it be someone else? He’s done well so far, they’ll be an exciting watch this season.

Hopefully they aren’t out for too long but yea Ausar and duren going down sucks

Idk about Huerter

Don’t forget about the collapsed lung to end the season. That’s definitely contributed to cades ceiling last season.

Minny might be on that tier as well I know they gotta prove it but that roster is stacked

I was told the Heat got better and they’ve looked like ass so far

Didn’t the heat go from the 1 to the 8 seed. There’s some teams that regress hard. Pistons probably weren’t one of them, since they’re still young and not as streaky as those heat teams were.

Regular season wins are irrelevant if your star center is going to play worse than most contenders back up center come playoff time. It may take him proving us wrong in the Spring before anyone starts taking Detroit seriously again

Anyone could win. I think the last 8 titles have all been different teams

A team who’s never done it? You mean our current lineup or the pistons in general?

Don’t forget the refs in 2nd quarter were going crazy ham in favor of the Heat. I guess they didn’t wanna see a 40 point blowout tonight.

I feel like Cade is actively trying to have his teammates cook and get off to good starts in the season. The team wants Ausar to develop his ball handling at point (which is what they wanted to do last year). They also want to implement the new additions to the team. Cade is fine though. The only thing I wish is that we figure a way to get Okorie some minutes. We are super deep though.

This might sound off, but I feel like Cade hasn’t really tried yet. Not to say he’s not trying but, he hasn’t tried to go into like takeover mode yet in both games. Just sort of out there in the flow. Plus us fans know he always starts slow.

He wasnt awful he was in foul trouble and it was a borderline blowout the entire game . He just let the other players eat early then later he had no rythym and they trapped the entire game so he just took what the defense gave him . He did have some.dumb turnovers late but its hard when every time you get going you get a dumbass foul and have to sit . He was like 5 for 7 with 16 and 8 he was actually super efficient minus the fouls

It was by 20. We don’t count that literal garbage time 3.🤣

Heat aren’t

Wolves definitely aren’t. Poverty franchise with no rings.

This. They are so well-balanced. Everyone sleeps on how good their role players are (Ausar, Duncan, etc). They have the projected 3rd best rotation in the league DET

We do well against the Thunder. The Spurs on the other hand…

See you Sunday
