He took a min deal two years ago when the Bucks had no room to sign him to a market level contract. They did so with the agreement that after two years when they had his early bird rights they would give him a make good contact. That’s blatantly against the rules. If they don’t punish the Bucks it sets precedent for teams to just do it in a smarter fashion.

Here’s what’s happening: This is the Buck’s version of “administrative leave” and affording due process in the Trent situation. If you “press pause” by not playing him you remove conditions where you COULD be found guilty for capitalizing on cap circumvention because you didn’t benefit from his play post contract. The move to DNP him also does not add to the NBA investigation either and removes additional variables to their fact finding. This is PR/HR 101.
