It’s a humiliation ritual

They analytically won vs the Sixers.

same with Gobert to the point that there’s articles written about how the Wolves keep blowing leads lol

https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/why-minnesota-timberwolves-keep-blowing-175755144.html

and Jazz haven’t made playoffs in 5 years since Mitchell left. where’s the character development yall doing in Utah? besides losing to a Ty-Jerome led Grizzlies team on opening night

U blame spida but not Gobert for the blown leads 🤔

It’s not rocket science

He knows he might be on the hot seat and he’s trying to frame things in a positive way (both for his team’s morale and for his own perception by management), but he’s stumbling trying to articulate it because he’s disappointed and anxious

Because he’s an ass coach.

lmao at the thought of redditors thinking their “memes” bothers an NBA coach

i promise you a head coach in the nba doesnt give a shit about being a meme or being clowned on the internet

I’ve been on the “Mobley for Giannis” train the whole time. I couldn’t help watching that game and thinking ‘Giannis just simply wouldn’t let this happen.’ it’s hard to not feel like sometimes there’s no true care, passion for winning. Not real dogs to take accountability or stop the bleeding of these wild runs that we allow. And dang it stanks

he gets clowned because they routinely do this

This isn’t a rag tag group of up and comers. These guys have been losing leads. Maybe Kenny Ain’titson.

That was the Pacers first playoff run with that core, we’ve seen the same story over and over with the Cavs

The optics of this type of response are just so bad after he got absolutely torched all summer for his “winning analytically” comment

Yeah, he is far from the first coach to say adversity is a good thing. He just talks like a weirdo.

I mean, a pretty big part of that collapse was due to Tyrese being unhealthy, which is a classic Tyrese problem. And it was also that team’s first deep run. The Cavs collapse like, all the time

weren’t they missing hali and eventually siakam that series tho?

as the league gets younger we’ll see more up-and-coming teams flame out of the postseason early in their runs because there just will be more good young teams winning playoff series. maybe that helps their development, maybe it’s just an inevitable byproduct of younger teams having success. we do know that Atkinson isn’t coaching one of those teams, so it doesn’t matter how much losing builds character.

You’re already forgetting that the Cavs had huge come from ahead losses in the 2025 playoffs (against your team!) and 2026 playoffs. At this point it’s not an “opportunity to grow”. It’s a trend.

He’ll get clowned for this, but what he supposed to say— “pack it in, season’s over”?

They’ve collapsed every year he’s coached them.

The difference is the Cavs don’t seem to be learning from their mistakes

The Cavs literally did this a few months ago against the Knicks in the playoffs. They learned nothing.

I think they do.

Sure but…. All the Cavs did last year in the playoffs was blow leads… and yet here we are game 1 blowing leads….Kenny is a clown for saying this shit - Cavs fan

Went straight from analytical to moral victories

He was actually analytically promoted to PBO if you think about it

Nah, the Cavs problem is they are soft and have no leader. LeBron fixes all of that

lol 2 games in

Blow this up? They got like 5 all star level players. Everybody just screams rebuild all the damn time, that shit aint fun
