FSR 4.1 for PoE2 plz @ GGG
PoE2 sadly still sit’s on FSR 2.0 - please GGG; give us this superb image quality. ❤️❤️❤️
Yes please!!! FSR2 looks archaic compared to 3.1 and 4, everything just turns into a blurry mess.
There’s a few active forum posts about this please go bump them <3
+1
I do agree. It’s a shame PoE 2 only supports FSR 2.0, which is 4 years old at this point.
Yeh; i thought they were going to update it somewhen through the early access stage but now almost 6 weeks pre release i doubt they will. :/
definitely need this, AMD also released new drivers this week that enables FSR 4.1 for 6000 series cards
And for all the handheld devices, which would benefit MASSIVELY from the upscaling and frame gen even.

This is honestly the easiest sell.
Keep in mind tho that you can force FSR 4 thru Proton on Linux since a few months, this new transformer model just making performance a lot better on the weaker hardware. So this would only matter for Windows based handheld devices, not for the SteamDeck.
Please GGG!

Current FSR is horrible. Not worth turning it on to have this very poor image quality 😭
Yeh when you directly compare an FSR2 and FSR4 image side by side you start crying …
I know it isn’t official and would love to be able to use FSR4 natively but Optiscaler is working nicely in PoE2 , it’s worth checking it out :)
Tho it does no harm it’s still a “game files manipulator” - would not risk my acc to be banned due to it.
Seen several instances of people getting banned using that unfortunately, sucks cuz it’s just an upscaler but it does technically modify game files.
Those people usually did other stuff before or on top of that tho.
You pretty much always just get a warning from GGG for that in case your account is otherwise clean and they are no longer OK with sth.
Also injecting newer FSR and DLSS dll’s into our games has been a thing for years on Linux now.
GE-Proton and CachyOS-Proton can do that with a switch of a parameter.
On top of that most Linux players also inject Vulkan Layers ( MangoHud, Volt, reShade ) into the stack.
Im not saying its harmless. They could change their stance at any moment and your “modding” is surely recognized and logged.
But so far over my 5-6 years of doing just that on Linux in like 30 different games, some of them highly competitive, i’ve never gotten into trouble. Might be because my accounts are crystal clean otherwise
got a warning for trying optiscaler! made sure to not touch it again but was sad and not going to try it out again :(
Fair enough! I would love to give it a try but I’ve put too much money into my PoE account to want to risk it haha here’s hoping they just natively support it sometimes soon.
Just to confirm I have been using without getting banned on both PoE & PoE 2 for multiple leagues. Using an older account as well and I am sad I have to use optiscaler to fix an issue GGG could fix themselves.
These people most likely did other things, i use Optiscaler since the first day of EA and it has been amazing.
Hmm im using it from the game release and im fine , I understand its maybe against TOS but its only graphical enhacement and making game playable for me so .. do whatever you feel is right
It’s just their excuse to cover actual ban reason. I’ve been using optiscaler for a long time in poe 2 without any problems.
Lol I have been using it since 0.2
Recommending the use of dll injectors in an online game is definitely a choice.
I played this league with the FSR4.1.1b dll swapped and didn’t get banned. Besides, the ban is not immediate, you would usually get 1 warning message if it’s detected and only get banned if you continue to break the ToS, but they seem to be lenient about this because I never got any warning.
Same here. I’ll just stop it if I receive a warning but I’m sure if they can detect cheats they can also recognize optiscaler. But I understand not risking it too it would be better to just have support for newer fsr.
u WILL get banned eventually. 100%
or as we say in germany “nachts ist kälter als draußen.” 100%
You have to do something really wrong in Poe to get banned, I’m talking about botting 24⁄7 or rmt
Optiscaler is a clear breach of TOS so why risk it
Definitely against TOS, still wont ban you for only that
Its actually not. Its a very very very gray area as it does what AMD and Nvidia do with swapping versions.
I tried, qlmost impossible to remove injectio, for aome unknown reasons, even after manual deleting or script
I hope for a much better CPU performance on a release. I already use FSR4 with optiscaler but i think i shouldn’t even though i am on a 1440p. My system is ryzen 5600, 7800xt, 32gb 3600mhz, and in maps my gpu usage drops to a 40-50%. Upscaling basically makes things even worse cause it’s additional load on a CPU.
You need at least a 5700X to feed to the graphics card to the max - 6 cores is rather weak in cpu intensive titles like PoE2; even my 7500F on my secondary AM5 system suffers in PoE2 - best for you would be a 5700X3D or 5800X3D - and yeh; i know the prices too well *sigh :/
I’m playing on a native 1080p with 7800xt and the game eats that GPU like a snack.
Everyone’s praying for a better CPU performance but the GPU performance is not good enough as well. You just can’t see it because you’re on 5600. This game barely tickles 9800x3d in my setup. And don’t get me wrong it used to be worse even for CPU but it did get better over time.
what kind of performance are you getting with that setup?
I have the same build, 60 fps works basically everywhere at that resolution even in endgame. I usually use FSR just to keep my GPU quiet but I could use native 1080p without dropping frames except in rare instances. In campaign I usually do 90 fps, 1440p native.
That’s great to hear. I just got a 9070 XT and will be getting the other components in December so 1.0 will be sooo smooth compared to the blurry stutterfest I had before.
It’s a shame that so many games still either don’t support FSR 4 natively or the implementation is dogwater.
PoE 2 doesn’t even have FSR 3.1, which itself is pretty mid. And in Witcher 3 Remastered for example, FSR 4 Quality literally looks worse than DLSS performance. Like how does this even happen? Same with Kingdom Come Deliverance II.
I was thinking about buying 9070 XT, but it’s a giant turn off to me. When I buy a 800$ GPU, I want the image quality to be consistent and Lossless scalling can’t be the answer every single time NVIDIA does something better or the devs support NVIDiA better.
If FSR 3 was supported then the driver could ‘upgrade’ to 4.
Sadly; yes - however they did not even update to 3. :/
Ask yourself, what kind of NVIDIA GPU will 800$ get you and compare that card’s performance to 9070XT
Actually here in central europe the 5060ti 16G and the 9070 16G (Non-XT) are around the same (way too high) price.
9070 was at 520€ half a year back; now its 750€ - 5060ti 16G was at 470 half a year back; now its around 750€. This is just crazy …
Rn RTX 5070 and 9070 XT have roughly equal price in my country.
RTX 5070 is ~15% slower in RT on average and has less VRAM, but has better FG, MFG and a consistent upscaller that’s atleast very good in every single game.
To me the last argument is the dealbreaker, but also I never had a timeout exception on my NVIDIA GPUs and MFG is a nice bonus that works wonders in some games.
I wish AMD cards got rid of all their issues, but they haven’t managed to do it yet and I’ll wait till I’m sure my 7700 XT experience won’t get repeated.
9070xt is a direct competitor to 5070TI, They are really close to each other performance wise, both are way stronger than the non “TI” or “XT” versions.
There are more than 450 games that supports FSR redstone and things will probably get better, they will finally include support to vulkan API, and the tecnology is finally available to older generarions: https://www.reddit.com/r/radeon/s/x7tmheSbvX
If 9070xt and 5070 are the same price where you live, I really think it’s not a really good deal as you think, to go with the base 5070. Even though it has DLSS and FG, it’s a weaker card.
If you’re interested and want to know more about their comparison, very nice video:

In my experience the latest drivers were pretty good and stable!
Yeh; pretty much 2 yrs of early access - i can’t fathom why this hasn’t got updated during all that time. :/
I honestly don’t even think their DLSS is up to date right now, bitterly disappointing in a game that really needs all the performance we can squeeze since they don’t have even the most basic graphics settings
fsr2:
Why are you posting a screenshot from Halls of Torment in a PoE 2 sub /s
Yes please, give us FSR 4.1 now!
Yes, please bring FSR 4.1!
Maybe comment on the official forum for this
does amd software lack the ability to override fsr versions in games?
im on nvidia so im not exactly up to date with software related to amd, but with nvidia you can override it in their app
You can if the game uses FSR3 or newer since it then is the same as Nvidias DLSS and is just a .DLL file that gets swapped.
With older FSR (so FSR 1 and all versions of FSR 2, which PoE2 uses) the upscaler is compiled into the game files and can not be hot swapped. It would required a full client mod (like optiscaler) which technically is against TOS.
Some people report that optiscaler is working no issues since years, others say they got warnings from GGG support to stop using it or they will get banned. So I get why people don’t want to do that.
That being said FSR2 which is in PoE2 came out 4 years ago and GGG never bothered to update that to a newer version, so I support this post. It shouldn’t be on us, GGG should ship 1.0 with current tech and not 4 year old one.
ah i see, thank you for the detailed info :)
and yes ggg should definitely update fsr, even if it were possible to override it in the app, simply because a ton of people wouldnt even know that was an option
This
Should reach out to amd, it may be support will only come once the game is out of early access
We are still waiting for the modern miracle of m/kb + controller switching in-game, so I wouldn’t hold your breath….
We also need framegen / Nvidia
For what it’s worth I’ve been using optiscaler since O.5 no ban warning issues, 9070xt here
Just a note even as a Nvidia users I’m using Xess. POE2’s implementation of it is very good. I have it set at quality + and looks as good as dlss but with way better motion stability.
you can have FSR 4 with optiscaler. i use it for my 9700xt on linux
