I’d say Grizzlies Warriors is a little weird. Given that they’ve only gone up against each other in two playoff series and most of the main figures that started the beef, Iggy and Brooks, left their respective teams years ago.

Obviously Draymond’s still around, but every fanbase hates him so that’s not really special to the Grizzlies.

The Pacers vs Bucks rivalry two years ago was pretty unexpected.

Denver and Minnesota had something going for a bit

Us vs Relevancy beyond a Starter jacket

Pistons vs Cavs fanbases hating each other is underrated

Blazers vs Miami

Blazers fans as a whole absolutely hate Miami fans. It’s not even about the team it’s strictly the fans. It started over the Dame trade and their cocky entitlement over it then has devolved ever since to the point most actively root for their failure in all things basketball.

Wolves/Nuggets hatred probably wouldn’t have been a thing if the Wolves didn’t smack them in every playoff series recently then lose the very next series lol.

Warriors and Cavs fans, probably. Two fanbases with no real history until they met in four straight Finals.

Suns and New Orleans a few seasons ago was fun

Bucks vs Pacers

Raptors fans seem to really hate the Celtics which has always come as a surprise to me

Heat and Trail Blazers, I believe they are separated by more miles than any two other teams which makes it even funnier

Mariners fan here. We don’t like Toronto because there’s a percentage of blue jays fans that come from BC and make the stadium like 40% Blue Jays fans while also pricing the rest of us out

Mariners and blue jays hate each other cuz blue jay fans are the absolute worst when it comes to visiting Seattle. Rude af, obnoxious, and just overall aren’t a great group of people to be around.

I’m sure home games in Toronto are different, but their traveling fans, ass. Also, last years playoffs didn’t help relations.

Warriors - Cavs rivalry was amazing to watch

Minnesota vs oklahoma is a weird one

We played a single time and it was not close for bitterness the way say denver and indiana series were, yet minnesota fans talk about okc more than anyone else okc has actually had way more playoffa history with [say spurs, dallas, houston]

and we respond back to them, so two teams who played 1 time in a relatively forgettable series and have no geographical closeness at all developed a weirdly intense rivalry

I know I hate the Celtics and everyone else in the West except for the Grizzlies, Warriors, and Blazers.

Mavs fans STILL hate the Heat. The Wade series was over 20 years ago now. The Dirk championship over them was 15 years ago.

Suns and Pelicans and it appears to be mutual. Some of the stuff I see on the Suns subreddit regarding the Pelicans and the city of New Orleans is pretty intense. On par, or even worse than the Lakers, Mavericks, and Spurs.

Growing up in Sacramento before the Kings came to town, I never had any hatred towards the Warriors. But things got really nasty once the Warriors got good. Mostly because it was way cheaper to buy tickets to Sac and commute to Kings/Dubs games than to go to a Dubs game, and that sorta hostile takeover combined with a feeling that there are loads of fair weather fans that changed allegiances from Golden Year Kings to Dubs has made it as big as the Lakers rivalry of the golden years. But for the first 30 years it barely felt like a rivalry at all.

Mariners fans don’t like how Jays games end up with thousands of away fans, kind of skews their home advantage (also drives up hotel costs for anyone coming from out of town, and fills up bars and restaurants. Which is great for the hospitality biz but not so much if you’re a home fan coming in for a game)

Similar to other rivalries that develop from fans being in close proximity to each other

Heat and Bucks, now. I’ve seen a lot of Bucks fan cope “he will be back in a year” and a lot of hoping Miami fails with Giannis. Meanwhile, I’m over here really excited for the young guys having bigger opportunities on the Bucks. I’m rooting for them and I like Rollins and their new rookies, and having Jenkins as a coach. I know they’re sad about losing their dude, but I’ve seen their fanbase really hate Miami now.

I’m also seeing Miami fans adding insult to injury with them losing Giannis, insulting MIL as a city+franchise. I’m not gonna return that same energy. Appreciate the occasional Bucks fans who are still rooting for Giannis and are just focusing on their future without wishing doom on us lol.

Knicks and Pistons. Although I hate our traditional rivals like Boston, Philly, and the Pacers, there’s no team I’ve hated more in the past 2 seasons than the Pistons.

I think Pistons fans view the Knicks as soft floppers led by a little guard, whilst I view the Pistons as unskilled brutes who play an overly physical brand of basketball because, apart from Cade, that’s all they can do. Pistons basketball is borderline prison ball.
