If Edey is healthy then Acuff could easily walk away with it as Boozer will be sharing his touches
He’ll be playing with a healthy Sabonis , K. Murray, and lavine(Assuming he’s not bought out), so acuff probably won’t just be jacking shit every possession
He’ll be sharing touches as well, and imo the kings won’t be bottom of the WC
I highly doubt Lavine gets bought out because Lavine, despite being a 0 defense player, is already having a positive impact on Acuff. In Summer League, teams were double/triple teaming Acuff because we had no 2nd option that opponents respected. With Lavine, if you double Acuff, then he can give the ball to Lavine who can punish those situations.
Sound like assists to me
A very underrated part of his game despite being one of the best distributors in his class. Only player to lead the SEC in points and assists.
I mean his usage is still going to be the highest on the team. He’ll probably get up to 12-15 shots per game
With ROTY, Acuff does have a good shot at it. Voters do tend to give it to guys who were top 5 though, but Acuff will put up a lot of good offensive stats, which is what many voters will care about. I can also see Caleb Wilson having an easy runway for getting stats and votes. But at the end of the day, the #1 pick is the favorite to win ROTY, so it’s AJ’s to lose.
All true, but Acuff winning wouldn’t surprise me at all, his offensive game is so polished, he looks like a seasoned vet with his patience and the way he is moving defenders.
This is a great rookie class
So fundamentally sound for a 19 year old. They were sending doubles and blitzing pretty frequently too.
The amount of poise he already has is astounding, plus he’s got such an aesthetically pleasing game

The thing that I like the most is his confidence. There’s like no hesitation when he gets the ball. Knows exactly what he’s going to do with the ball as soon as he gets it.
Hes quick and hes cooking them. Shooting 3s and attacking inside. Very promising

He’s much slower top speed wise but he is quick and uses his body and angles so well to create advantages
Acuff looks so polished already but jeez his defensive tape in college was beyond terrible. If he put in a decent amount of effort I feel like the Clippers draft him easily

25 points and 8 assists on that efficiency is a great line. It’s preseason so take it with some salt, but scoring and creating for others at once is what you want to see from a young guard.

This comp is a bit confusing to me. Rose’s athleticism was a huge part of his game, and Acuff’s shooting is a huge part of his.
I don’t really see a ton of Rose in his game, outside just being a very poised and effective young point guard.
Exactly. I don’t know why people keep comparing him to Rose when he clearly doesn’t have Rose’s athleticism. Not to take anything away from Acuff, because I do feel like he will be a good, if not great, player in the league. But the comparison to Rose just doesn’t make any sense.
Rose is in a class of his own when it comes to athleticism. I love Acuff though, his game will most likely allow him to player longer than rose regardless.

It took fox years to understand playing under control. Acuff thought processes at 19 are very rare.
DRose, Kyrie, Iverson, and Marbury are some of the more common comps I’ve seen for Acuff. He is mentored by AI so take from that what you will.
