Sounds like a big hassle

Nihilistic Mitchell

That’s what I’ve been saying all summer!

For real I honestly feel sorry for you guys 🥲

I also could’ve bagged a baddie. But what’s the point? She’d divorce me anyway.

Ah the 2020 Clippers approach

Knicks fans gonna boo at the home opener because they haven’t won a title since June.

If you win a ring then they expect you to win another. Better to never win at all. Then they expect nothing from you.

But

Who wants to deal with talks and expectations of a repeat ?

Not this guy

This is why we don’t fucking win he’s constantly telling himself and the locker room “hey guys it doesn’t matter”

Between this and “analytic wins” from Atkinson what’s going on in that locker room?

Is he wrong?

Jokic is already facing fraud allegations since he only has 1 ring. People now questioning his ring saying he never even faced a 45+ win team in his championship run.

Even if I slept with Rihanna and had babies with her, could I even keep from getting divorced?

See? Nothing’s ever enough. Anyways..

This and being married to Coco Jones are his top two coping skills

i don’t think it’s some crazy thing to say? they shot 20% form 3 against the knicks, it was just a bad roll of the dice to go cold at that moment

lol

“I’d rather drift away through the NBA history books and be forgotten altogether than win a championship and be called a fraud by edgy teenagers on Twitter and Reddit for not repeating”

Watch the clip. Hes basically sayjng I’m doing this to prove it to myself not to prove it to someone else.

How is the reddit circlejerk so bad, that people assume he’s just saying this without context?

The mindset of someone trying to come to terms with the fact that they’re probably never winning a ring.

That’s why he will never win a ring

The mindset of someone who gets paid millions to play a game

Similar to Westbrooks “win, lose… doesn’t matter just have fun!”.

Elite athlete coming into terms about never really going to win it all.

Well *pulls up chair*

Failure are steps to success!

Gianni’s actually has a clip speaking after a playoff lost exactly about the situation don is speaking on here. Holy shit that’s an ironic pull from you

“It’s not a failure”

The ‘08 Celtics team only won one title and they’re still milking it to this day. No one calls them a failure either

Thats not what this clip is saying at all.

That’s because everyone knows that was a ridiculous championship and Giannis has KDs toes to thank

i feel like giannis has become underrated and kind of forgotten since he hasn’t made a deep playoff run in a couple of years.

Every active player gets called a failure by some moron.

How are all of you failing so damn hard to understand his point? Lol.

Ever since he started dating that girl and having PDA he seems like he lost his mind lol

The quote for this video should’ve been the last sentence where he’s saying to be motivated for your own gratification and not for others. The championship line was really just a hypothetical.

yeah i didnt even watch the clip and i understood what he’s getting at lol

People would rather take a single quote to take things out of context. People don’t always explain themselves well in a single sentence

This happens anytime a clip or article is posted. I remember everyone flaming Chet for his comments on ICE in Minneapolis based on one sentence taken out of context posted here. We’re so cooked.

Isn’t this what happened with the tmac quote of “nice to get out of the first round” when they were up 3-1? I think the question was something along the lines of what would you feel you finished the upset but everyone just clowned him for assuming they would

win and then getting knocked out.

Most people especially mfs on REDDIT are not very smart. Most posts are just echo chambers

Sure but what does that have to do with this clip?

The fact that this is what you took from it is why NBA discourse is annoying at times.

All he’s saying is people are going to move goalposts no matter what, so there’s no sense on dwelling what just happened or what other people are saying about you. Just have to move on to the next thing if the result is a championship or a first round exit or a 15 win season all the same.

Professional athlete wants to be level-headed and always seek to improve. Social media says only results matter. Shocking.

i would not be suprised if the cavs won this year, they are better and they have their whole team for the whole year now

Anybody could win the championship that part I believe. You’re not gonna win when you have a mindset like that. Thinking that you could’ve won the championship and then already thinking about winning another one even though you haven’t won the first one is crazy thinking. I won’t be surprised if he never gets to the finals

I’d be disturbed paying this maybe 2nd option 70M period

Tbf a lot of them accepted this when he got his contract extension.

Hahahaha help

Wdym

There’s a separation between how people just view players purely on their athletic or technical skill sets..

But ignore the players who know how to make winning plays when it matters, which is a skill too.

This is how guys like Brunson get undervalued, even though he’s won at multiple levels. Learning how to read a game, process when it matters under stress.

LeBron really sniffed out the loser mentality in that locker room wow GOAT shit

Should’ve just stayed in Utah then

Makes you wonder if he came to that conclusion after enjoying a summer of vacationing, training with a team of professional trainers, masseuses, and ball-kickers, living life as a multi millionaire, or if he went to therapy or a performance coach and they told him “relax, you are awesome and you have a great life”

“You are enough” tattoo incoming

He is not wrong about the media though, always onto the next story, being annoying.  24 hour media cycle has really ruined sports and news coverage

Why didn’t you just try winning a championship? What, like it’s hard?

This exactly. I didn’t try out for 2nd grade basketball for this exact reason. I hit a layup in first grade and the expectations were just insane. Like I’m the next Jordan. Had Nike, Adidas all over me asking me to wear their oshgoah bgosh stuff. I’m like the hell with this. People respect me for what I did in 1st grade and they’ll never forget who I truly am. I consider myself up there with Jordan and Bill Russel regardless of what you think. I did what I did and no one can ever take that away from me.

Russ really is a game changing legend of the game. Really made everyone believe in win lose or draw just have fun

You play to win the game!

Is sports betting sinful?
