Maybe all he needed was a year off, rest his back, get his mind off the pressure from the media and fans.
Hope to see him kick ass this season. I’ve always kind of felt bad for him.
wait he only took a year off? i feel like it’s been years since i last saw him on the court
It’s just been a minute since he played meaningful basketball. Also was on and off the court a lot between injuries, mental health, etc
Always felt for him even as a Sixers fan. Fuck Doc Rivers.
He really doesn’t look bad tbh. He’ll make the Kings a fun watch this season.
Lol
A player who just “doesn’t look bad” will make a team fun to watch?
Uh, yeah. Homeboy was written off completely. Watching him try to prove himself again will be fun to watch. What’s so hard to understand about that?
He was written off because he was terrible lol. In fact the bar is so low, your best description of him is “ehh doesn’t look bad”. I’m just confused how that could make an awful team fun to watch.
People have different experiences of fun 🤷🏻♂️
You don’t know the definition of terrible.
He didn’t want to play he wasnt written off lol
He made his FT’s plus a fallaway middy, so his shot seems to be okay. Gonna be a decent swiss-army knife player for them.
not just about making them, he’s taking them. first play of the game he’s taking a fading middy, he clearly has some confidence in his shot
He actually looks a lot better than i thought he would. Hope that aggressiveness is back. He was fun to watch early on.
I’ll reserve judgement until I see a contested dunk.
I don’t think a guy with extensive back issues is going to be looking for many contested dunks.
He will be on a contender next season if he can sustain the aggressiveness and stays healthy
i just want to see how he starts to handle it when/if people start giving him the Russ treatment & leaving him open 20ft from the basket. im not praying on his downfall but i want to see how he reacts now after a year off
Good to see him playing again. If he plays very well this season, he may have a shot at the buyout market.
Man he’s moving soooo much better.
Simmons will retire as a King. Mark my words.
Absolutely, but what team do you think he’ll be on?
This season
Is that a good thing??
You cant even play basketball
Yea thats why im on Reddit talking about it instead, just like you lol.
Looked super impressive.
He moved really well
Were we watching the same clip? It’s nice seeing him back for his sake but his athleticism looks at like 30% to what it was
It takes time to get the confidence back in your own body. This looks really promising to me from a movement standpoint.
lol, he looked literally crippled for the nets.
He looks way way better here
Agree it’s far from his peak form, but he’s moving very fast with the ball on the break still. I don’t think he has the confidence in his jumping ability right now. Or maybe he’s just completely lost it with his back.
looks like he’s stumbling on every move he makes tbh
Legit. What is this thread talking about
Im gonna say it, good for him
Not too shabby. Maybe Kings can turn him into 2nd round pick or something before trade deadline. There is always teams that need backup point guards or just defender.
The kings have been trying to find players with size that play defense for so long. If it works out not sure why they would want to get rid of him.
getting picks for minimum contract players is just a win, you have to do it if the opportunity arrises
Not so sure if it’s a former all nba guy/all star that might still have a lot of juice left in the tank. Could be selling low. We’ll see how the season goes.
Sixers need him to play C
almost a point per minute… he might be back boys! #1 pick redemption story
If he can make shots again, and doesn’t get injured, I think a lot of teams would want him off their bench.
he’s so back
He’s gonna be an all star replacement this year mark my words
Him and the rest of the kings were setting some awful screens but liked seeing him look for his shot against Draymond.
Also I pray to god the coach instructed that fellow to not hug Draymond on a screen involving curry 😂. That was wild to see
Doug christie, wouldn’t surprise me. worst coach in the league and its not close
Per 36 those stats are crazy
i legitimately hope he does well and enjoys playing again for all he’s had to go through
Looks explosive again
Not bad actually, playing downhill, trying to score, not afraid of the foul line(good percentage).
Looks rusty af but there’s a lot to like.
LeBron… We’re good here. You can go home.
Not good not bad
Battle of the Bum Squads
Everything else is good, but 2 turnovers is hurtful work
