Yaxel Lendeborg 9⁄12 FG 20 pts 8r 3a in 15min first half
Making it look easy out there while going straight to the paint bodying anybody for the easy lay in with soft touch.
This kid is going to be good.
The Yaxel era starts now
I don’t know how so many teams passed on him but he clearly knows ball and the size, handles, shooting, plus touch is actually insane.
I mean he is the most nba player in the draft but also a full 5 years older than most the guys who went ahead if him. He is older than Jonathon fucking Kuminga lol
A great pickup for yall but for a team looking to rebuild or get young talent it doesn’t really make a ton of sense
Yaxel is only a year younger than Anthony Edwards. Yaxel is a rookie whereas Edwards is already a four time all star and two time all-nba.
Warriors have not done well with recent young lottery picks
We see this all the time with older players. Yaxel may be different but the track record of old ass guys going in the lottery or anywhere in the first is not good.
means nothing, he’s only 24. That’s a solid 10+ year career if he pans out.
yaxel is a better player than “jonathan fucking kuminga”.
hope this helps.
He’s 24
They passed on him because he was 5 years older than some of the guys ahead of him, when you think of it there’s every chance Acuff, wagler, boozer and dybantsa will be better in 5 years time when they reach yaxel age.
No doubt he’s good tho I thought the mavs would swoop him up but I guess he offers similar to Flagg in a way
no chance the mavs are taking a 24 year old prospect when the best player on their team is 19, tbh the warriors are a great landing spot for him since they’re very much trying to contend this year
I will say Acuff looks like a walking bucket.
In 5 years time none of those guys will be on rookie contracts
A boat’s a boat but the mystery box could be anything, it could even be a boat!
All those players were better in college last year. They are already boats but younger
He’s only just turned 24 FFS. Boozer is the only one ahead of him who was 18. So if some means one then yeah, good point.
I’d like to know also. Age?
24 is extremely old for an NBA prospect
Remember Chris Duarte? Second all rookie team at 24 and out of the league in a few years. Yaxel is obviously much much better but he will probably peak in a year or 2.

I think the thing I’m most surprised about is how strong he looks. He bodied Precious Achiuwa a couple times tonight and that dude is fucking strong.
It’s his age, he just doesn’t fit timelines all too well. For rebuilding teams like us he’s like 5 years older than our franchise guy. He needed to go on a win-now team, lottery teams aren’t win-now teams and the warriors are just that.
Michigan fan here, enjoy

Hey Steph.. we’re good
It really doesnt make any sense, but I stand by my point that if Yaxel had been 22 instead of 24 he would have been locked in as the 5th pick.
Someone made the point that if you were trying to find a veteran with his skill profile/age you’d be paying a lot more than a rookie contract.
Warriors looking good for picking him
I’m trying not to get too excited but he’s making it really hard not to
BIG YAX BABY
I actually think he could be rookie of the year
Lol come on Peterson and AJ leading their teams to the playoffs in a top 2-3 role
Caleb and boozer on buns teams with all the available shots they want .. I don’t see it
Yax is low key the dubs second option until Jimmy and/or Porzingus gets back. Hes going to put up numbers but I think it is Boozer or Acuff.
our second option being tingus pingus is depressing
Nah when he plays hes probably just fine as a second option. He just never plays.
Yaxe l coming for AJ and the ROTY
He looks fucking amazing.
Manu ginobili was a 25 year old rookie. I think luis scola was about 24 or 25 too.
To be fair, Manu had already dominated at international level (World Cup, Italy, Euroleague) by then
yea but he hadn’t done a damn thing in the big 10
We have cam boozer at home
He’s basically what Kerr was trying to get Kuminga to do so it’s basically like if Kuminga worked out in year 6 lol
Crazy cause Yax is actually a week older than Kuminga yet already seems like a better player despite being an NBA rookie. JK was picked higher in the draft too
I don’t see the correlation. He’s 5 years older than Boozer, too.
Warriors are in good hands post Curry era, him and Podz will run the league.
Are we serious lmao
Most dangerous lottery team itl
If by run the league you mean fighting for that 9⁄10 play-in spot every year, sure.
👆🏼👆🏼
…sigh
decade straight play in runner ups 💪
He looks NBA ready. Future All Star?
Looks like a typical case of being underrated as a “high floor” prospect that gets overlooked. That’s exactly what they called Tatum coming out of college . Being touted as the most “polished scorer” but the least upside .
I know he’s older than most rookies but some guys are simply later bloomers.
Sometimes the polished prospect is ready for a reason.
6’10 in shoes. 7’4 wingspan. 240 with room to grow . Would be a higher lottery kind of pick 20 years ago before the 3 point revolution.
Hes 24 years old. Tatum was 19
He’s still 19, keep up
Tatum was 19
Still is.
People continue to forget that Yaxel started playing basketball late. His true basketball age is not 24 years old. He’s going to continue growing and maturing like he’s younger than he is
His parents are both professional basketball players
He played growing up he just failed out of school and couldn’t play for the team lol, but he obviously grew up playing with two pro parents.
He’s going to be 28 by the time he gets to his second contract 30+ by his 3rd. You can’t really change that most of the exceptional guys in his class are already making all star teams and even winning All-NBA. Good pick up for the warriors, for a young rebuilding team not so much.
Yaxel started playing basketball late
wtf are you talking about lmao

Negro why are you lying lol
i’m curious what you mean by him being a higher pick prior to the 3 point revolution. he definitely looks like he can shoot.
He’s 24. We’ve seen other older rookies start hot out of the gate but eventually talent catches up
Lol gotta be bait… good day to you
RoY
What the sacramento kings does to a mf
Future champion
This kid is going to be good
Agreed but calling a 24 yo “kid” doesn’t sound right either
With how people talk about him you’d think there’s never been a college player in the NBA who has used all their college eligibility
He’s an especially old player since he played 5 seasons.
Kid in terms of nba yrs
In terms of NBA years he’s middle aged
He has 0 NBA years
WTF I thought he was 19
Steph Curry still Dat Boi
Ha yeah. Yaxel “the kid” was already 14 months old when Jalen Duren was born
Joe Pesci repeatedly calling Robert DeNiro “kid” in The Irishman
Nba is ageism.

Yax is a star
Good thing they drafted a rookie on Steph’s timeline
Now when Jimmy and KP play a game they’ll be elite
But but but he’s 24
Nice stats for an octogenarian
Chris Duarte 2.0 bookmark this
Yax is really good at basketball
Anyone know how many minutes he gettin when the schedule starts for real? Kerr is a lunatic with the rotations and I’m tryna gauge for my fantasy draft, any info appreciated thanks!
He’ll get 30 plus if he can handle it physically. Helps that he can play 3 to 5.
Thanks!
probably starting and playing a good number of minutes initially, but his mid/late season minutes depend on how optimistic you are in his defense. he needs to become more aware defensively or kerr may bench him at some point for gui santos. jimmy and moody coming back later could affect his role too. hard to say later in the season.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Kerr sends Yax to the G League so he can play more minutes.
I’d be surprised, he’s good and Warriors love their small ball
