AD is so elite when he’s healthy. I hope he stays healthy. Such an entertaining player.

Aggrokid

Knicks zero chill, instantly double teaming AD in the preseason. Didn’t even wait to see if he still got the middies.

“Nowhere near” is a laughable take when elite 2-way players are so rare

Aggrokid

Contract year, so he will be.

HomeMadeFriedRice

AD still gonna be a beast when he’s older ala late Tim and KG. Scoring is not gonna be the same but his iq and defensive positioning is always gonna be there no matter what age

math-yoo | CLE

12 | 14 hours ago

He’s older now.

MddlingAges | NYK

5 | 9 hours ago

It’s not the years, it’s the mileage.

math-yoo | CLE

4 | 9 hours ago

It’s both. Guy was drafted at 19. He’s been in the league for 14 years. He shouldn’t get another max. He should get a respectable vet deal on a bottom feeder team. Because no offense should be structured around a guy who plays about 50 games a year. It’s unsustainable.

I admittedly did not watch the game but AD starting at small forward is sending me

No-Pollution-5841

38 | 16 hours ago

He started at PF didn’t he? He’s taller and heavier than AJ.

ShotgunStyles | SAC

16 | 16 hours ago

Like the other dude said, the listing doesn’t really matter but it’s interesting to me that AD is not that tall and he’s only 0.75 inches taller than AJ. This does show you the potential vision the Wizards have with their 3/4/5s. Just a lot of height and length.

jimmylamstudio

8 | 16 hours ago

Probably didn’t really matter in the rotation anyways but he’s listed small forward on the box score

MddlingAges | NYK

Messing up lineup data for decades to come.

chrispepper10 | MIA

11 | 15 hours ago

Still goes a bit unsaid, but why did the mavericks just trade him away for nothing?

coolbean024

30 | 13 hours ago

First, the injury concerns. Second, and probably a bigger factor; they wanted to completely move away from anything that reminded fans of the Luka trade.

KSLife | NYK

1 | 9 hours ago

Because 2nd apron value of Davis plus his inability to play consistently makes his contract pretty mid

StefonDiggsHS | DAL

1 | 7 hours ago

Injury concerns, didn’t want to pay him, Luka trade cloud, staying under the 2nd apron, bad roster fit

A lot of fucking reasons

geargarcon | DAL

0 | 11 hours ago

Because no one in the league valued him enough to offer more

chrispepper10 | MIA

16 | 11 hours ago

You didn’t actually have to trade him away, but sure.

And now his value is already probably already double what it was when you traded him.

YoungBuck2010 | DAL

2 | 7 hours ago

Yeah we needed to either trade him or bench him. He had next to no value last season because he was always hurt. Insane stat of the day for AD: he never played more than 5 consecutive games for the Mavs.

Double the value is still not a particularly valuable piece since AD is looking for a massive contract extension when he’s hasn’t shown he can be healthy.

Trading him this summer would have got us what? A protected pick and Jimmy Butler? That’s not too much better than the nothing haul we brought in.

Gristle__McThornbody | LAL

Top 6 team in the East with possibly going as high as top 3.

It’s bitter bitter watching AD now.

If he stays healthy, he’ll get traded to a team that will burn us.

This sucks.

geargarcon | DAL

OG_Wan_Annunoby | TOR

1 | 4 hours ago

I keep saying this in our sub about AD. He’s deadass a top 10 player in the league every time he actually plays, and despite the injury history he’s never missed a playoff or a playin game during his Lakers or even Mavs tenure.

BLAHBLAH1234BLAH1234 | TOR

1 | 2 hours ago

We already have Kawhi that plays at most 60 games a year, we can’t have another player that will be in and out of the lineup.

Easy to not miss a playoff games with Mavs when he wasn’t healthy enough to make one 🤣🤣🤣

Jarxzz | United States

1 | 3 hours ago

No he’s not lmao. He’s declined significantly over the past 2 seasons.

OG_Wan_Annunoby | TOR

2 | 3 hours ago

He’s had literally nothing to play for lol.

And even still, 20-11 with 2.8 stocks in 30 minutes a game. He’s still that dude, I don’t buy that he declined and I would trade for him in a heartbeat if I was a contender.

Jarxzz | United States

1 | an hour ago

We’re talking top 5. He hasn’t been close to that for years and realistically hasn’t been since like 2020

OG_Wan_Annunoby | TOR

1 | 39 minutes ago

Not to be pedantic but i said top 10 not 5.

And with the caveat “when he plays”. He almost definitely won’t hit the game requirements for All NBA but when it gets down to it in the playoffs if he’s healthy there’s not 10 other players id rather have than him

bryanBFLYin | LAL

1 | 6 hours ago

I’m glad he found a home with the Wizards. Mavericks didn’t deserve him honestly with the way they treated him like he’s Greg Oden. 😂 A healthy AD with the right pieces around him makes you a contender. I havnt seen enough to speak too much on the Wizerds just yet but I can set for sure that they will not be easy to beat this season if they can stay healthy. They have talent for sure right now.

Every Lakers fan knows what kind of problem AD can be. He’s already a defensive stud and will anchor your team on that end while getting 20-25 ppg easy. Don’t let him get his jumpshot back, then the league really has a problem.

After Jokic and Giannis, I still think AD is the 3rd best big in the league.

MiopTop | LAL

8 | 11 hours ago

Love AD but Wemby is arguably the best player in the league

bryanBFLYin | LAL

3 | 6 hours ago

I agree, but of all the other bigs AD can probably guard Wemby the best. He’s fast, strong, and smart enough defensively to keep up and make Wemby work. He’s one of maybe 2-3 bigs that ever seemed to make Wemby work. I can’t wait to see their matchups.

He’s the closest in terms of defense and offense capabilities to Wemby imo. All the other bigs will give you one or the other not both in equal capacity like Wemby. Giannis close but he gets a bit lazy on defense sometimes. AD like Wemby, doesn’t take a play off on defensive. He seems to like defense more than offense and has said as much.

The only player other than Wemby who I’ve ever seen make an entire team avoid attacking the rim consistently while still getting buckets is AD.

Wemby not heavy enough and can be moved, that’s really his only weakness and AD capitalizes on it while having the quickness to stay in front of him.

Also, Wemby is my favorite player right now, tied with Luka I’m not hating at all lol

WhenItsHalfPastFive | GSW

4 | 11 hours ago

true true, forgot about Wemby, mainly cause he’s really an alien. So AD is 4

bryanBFLYin | LAL

0 | 6 hours ago

Top 5 for sure. He’s been injured of late so people forgot their favorite players have no answer for AD. If he stays healthy, he’ll remind them lol AD is a fucking force when hes locked in

kvetoslavovo

0 | 6 hours ago

Best big in nba. Yes even over jokic wemby embid idc what anybody says. Street clothes is hakeem lvl elite

bryanBFLYin | LAL

0 | 6 hours ago

Purely talking about bigs who are elite on both offense and defense, wemby and AD are probably the only two. None of the other guys will give you both in equal measure. They sacrifice one for the other. Giannis, Embiid, joker, Gobert, etc. They are all great, but not on both ends consistently like Wemby and AD. That what separates them but don’t say this too loud or people who don’t watch games will call you delusional 😂
