If Harper was the one dribbling the ball up the court against Caruso and Wallace, and entirely responsible for every offensive possession, he’s turning the ball over the way Castle did. There was a reason the team never switched ball handlers or creators. These two players didn’t have remotely the same role or pressure in the playoffs, and they are only a year apart. Based on the Finals, Castle was the only guy ready in clutch time.

That being said, I wouldn’t exactly call his game smooth. Kid is more like a Mack truck while Harper is a Mercedes. Harper goes around while Castle goes through. 😭

he does not have a go to move, and it’s stupid to force him to have one because his main power is being able to do anything. his goal is to read and react properly to everything so he needs to have a ton of rep (experience, time) before focusing on doing the same thing for “easy” points. he’s too much of a team player to focus on getting a go to move now, and I think it would hamper his progress regarding everything else in his game, it doesn’t “teach” you the game/opponents to the same degree

idk why Spurs thinks that Wemby craddling and dribbling outside the 3pt line is a good offense for them, where in fact they have a lot guards who can do that.
