Bill was winning Boston titles and STILL got called slurs by some people 😭

Well… okay, you’re 100% right. Overt racism wasn’t really on my mind when I wrote this, so let’s say Bill is 1 and Russ is 2. Some of the stuff written about him is still racist of course, but nothing compared to what Bill Russell faced.

Idk if i call it slander shit is way worse

That don’t count, Bill Russell couldn’t even vote for half his life and half those guys didn’t even see a black person their entire childhood

Modern day racism is way different

I can’t believe people downvoted you for saying that, Russ always gave his all in everything he did on the court. Even if you HATE HIM, you have to admit his motor was insane.

He’s not gonna let you hit bro

You think someone who is 5th all time in assists has low b-ball IQ?

Well that is interesting.

Calling someone who made the post season 14 times including an NBA finals “not a winning player” is so funny.

Russ has a good IQ you can tell by the way he treats people in the city’s he plays in how he speaks at functions he cares about, or organizations hes partners with. your take is baseless and shows you have a general lack of understanding the basic difference between EQ and IQ.

I guess they must realllllly love to dog on you

The masses you’re referring to are dumber than Westbrook.

Casuals make up most of the people watching in arenas tho.

Well laker fans watched them exploit Russ to win a series then traded for him 2 years later, kinda stupid but not Russ’s fault

Lebron fans

He’s slandered by fans of every team who have to watch him turn into a short Kwame Brown after the trade deadline has passed

And lebron

You missed one reason.

Westbrick is fun to say

For good reason tho, Westbrick was EASILY one of the worst starters to ever wear the great purple & gold. He’s the only star player to get booed & have the home crowd yelling “noo” when he was gonna shoot

He was that bad & it didn’t help that he was a stat padder, low IQ player who frequently bricked LAYUPS and DUNKS

Lockerroom cancer with having attitude problems plus being a diva on the court who took NO accountability & then you see why he’s notoriously hated by almost 100% of Lakers fans

I got on my horse and rode to Colorado for internet so I could post a response to this.

For a state with 3½ million people, they’re shocking overrepresented among Youtubers.

Hey they’re making progress. I hear the senior sister wife is allowed to vote now

Ayo chill! I’m a Houstonian in UT 😭

Why would they be upset when it’s the truth? Quit being like that and no one will talk about the things they do towards black people.

His toddler daughter had a rare form of eye cancer, and he asked Utah to let him out of his contract so he could be nearer to treatment. Then he signed with the Lakers and every Utah fan became an expert in pediatric eye cancer treatment and insisted they could have received equally good treatment in Utah vs. Los Angeles and I’d estimate 90% of Jazz fans hated him after that. There was a picture of Fisher shooting a free throw and a fan behind the basket was covering one eye with his hand. The fan said he was trying to say that the refs were blind or something. As a lifelong Utah resident and Jazz fan, Jazz fans are really bad.

I think the issue is that in many places, if you got loud in that way, someone else in the stands is going to check you first. That fans can say wild shit and get away with it in some arenas very much speaks on the fans around them.

I think that’s why the generalizations happen. This isn’t isolated if everyone tacitly approves it.

OKC flair 😅

*Lakers fans. I mean, hes getting paid 50M and they missed the playoffs, started 2-10 the next season and as soon as they traded him they went straight to WCF. Surprise surprise his hated.

Laker fans don’t like him bc he was a terrible fit for that team and the “everybody just have fun” comments

Can’t blame him for being traded, we have Rob for that

Yeah basically every stop has loved Russ other than the Lakers. Maybe the Clippers, but expectations were low. Unfortunately thats the biggest fanbase on the planet so kinda counteracts all the others combined.

He was not even a rotation player with 40M per year.

Give me a break, those games were “please don’t be poop” and then airballs, missed layups and walking around on defense

There is a certain truth to how LeTeflon James seems to have criticism slide off him to someone else. Russ and AD were the problems, then it was Luka and Reeves, now we are seeing people go after Embiid. I’m not saying the criticism isn’t warranted but Lebron always has people jump to the chance to explain why his poor performance was someone else’s fault.

Who knew having two ball dominant players with similar skill sets wouldn’t work out? Not Lebron.

I genuinely don’t know if I have ever disagreed with a single comment more in my life. He is one of the most likable and unproblematic superstars we have ever had. He constantly goes out of his way to appreciate his fans, especially kids. He always gives his 100% no matter the situation. And he has never had a single off court scandal. While Curry and KD are funding the war in Israel and promoting shady crypto, and LeBron and Giannis are promoting a gambling epidemic, Russ is just chilling.

Also because has anyone watched Russ play beyond his skills? He’s constantly gloating and talking mad shit. Of course people will go hard at you when you do all of that in the middle of the game lol.

Calling the guy who played a game with a literal dent in his face after getting elbowed “soft” is hilarious

There it is

You cannot be a “low iq” player and average a triple double in 4 different seasons

KD stan still working hard to justify his weak ass move. “Hardest Road” my ass.

Says the person hiding behind a 15 day old account.

Shit take from a coward.

That user name wild lol. I was in a relationship with a black woman that would share some of his stuff and I did some research on him. He don’t support interracial dating and when I asked her about it she just shrugged and said she don’t agree with everything he say 😂.

Average paid bot account by Rich Paul in order to justify Russ’ underwhelming stint with Lakers and LeBron

He was getting Russel westrbick jokes WELL before he went to the lakers

The disrespect came well before he went to the Lakers. People were talking shit even when he was putting up insane numbers on the court.

What?

Oh that’s what they mean by “we don’t see color”

The worst thing he told me was that he lived in a walkable area of the city and he said in 2 year he was hit by 3 cars while walking. Just nuts!

Wtf

I do live in Utah and root for the Jazz so take it for what you want, but the streets of SLC are not safe for pedestrians it’s a problem for everyone. The streets aren’t built well for safely walking, I know multiple people who have been hit one who had to have the spine remade

I’m black and live in Utah and I’ve never been hit by a car lol not discrediting your friends story but in my multiple decades here the Utah racism is more like “can I touch your hair”(still not ideal) not KKK in my experience the places with more diversity actually have more hate based racism funny enough

Utah has some fucking garbage driveres

Ain’t no way in hell I would ever live anywhere in Utah. We have to know that as people of color there are places we simply don’t belong. I wouldn’t live in West Virginia either unless I’m there to play college football.

Their other GOAT option is John Stockton, who’s not that great of a fellow either.

Tbf to the Mormons (someone has to!), the “curse of ham” folk belief had existed within abrahamic religions for centuries. You’ll have medieval Islamic scholars saying it as well as 19th century American preachers. Mormonism just codified it when it was a widespread belief.

And when the majority of the (male) population believe they have been endowed with the powers of God, a lot of people are beneath them

It’s not crazy. Black basketball players aren’t people to them, they’re gladiators. We’re literally bringing public executions to livestreaming. These are the same people.

It’s all good fellow Clippers fan. When I said it, I just meant that I hope he got to go out with a competitor. Not a contender, just a team where he could possibly add to the margins. I said it moreso because of the human element. Russ with his kids looked happy.

When the Clippers played the Suns in the playoffs, I remember he gave his all when Kawhi got hurt after those 2 games. That’s all you want sometimes.

Not saying he’s Udonis Haslem, but it’s just about roles. Sometimes it’s not about actually playing “good enough anymore”. It’s probably more about organizations not expecting him to take those vet roles that a Mike Conley or middling journeyman would take. There’s vets that are literally on teams just for vet leadership. Now was he asked to play that, I don’t know.

You’re crazy if you don’t think he can contribute to a team rn, definitely not starting but off the bench he’d be productive still

I actually agree to the take and I love Russ. If the overall benefit of signing Russ wasnt deemed enough by the teams of the league-it just is what it is.

I mean it’s not for me to answer. I can say that everywhere he’s been there’s never been a negative sentiment about him in the locker room. He’s definitely had his issues with certain media members and fan bases, but that doesn’t mean he can’t contribute something.

I saw how he contributed to the Clippers and then took them out with the Nuggets. He’s definitely given the league the “Russell Westbrook” experience with some questionable plays, but I think so many people are so fixated on percentages, they’re not even watching the players too see what other intangibles they may offer. Not even talking about Russ in that regard, just in general.

Boston?

The only time it was recorded* Just like we’ve never seen a video of a racist callout on him but we can assume it’s happened.

I can’t tell if you’re serious but AI was treated similarly (albeit his off-court record wasn’t as clean as Westbrook’s). I noticed what made AI revered nowadays was two things.

One was his unconditional support for modern players was noticed and two was simply time passing from his retirement. The second reason allowed newer fans to go back and watch his highlights, see his swagger, etc and appreciate him. I think something similar will happen in about 10-15 years for Russ.

The practice moment was basically that.

No downvote, you just sound miserable.

Yeah. For one thing, this isn’t even Russ talking. And for another thing, one example doesn’t negate the other incidents. Even if Russ may have overreacted to a “Westbrick” chant, that doesn’t mean the other horrible stuff that fans shout is acceptable.

Pretty sure Devin Booker has posted a couple vids of him snowboarding. I think he went during All Star break last year.

Explain?

A prophet to hell

Mormons aren’t Christian’s though

Absolutely there is wickedness in this world and only Jesus Christ can save man

😂 hey man just call it like I see it

as a city los angeles needs to be nuked. utah and boston are cool

Sure but wouldn’t you be willing to take some insults and slurs for 100 million dollars. People shouldn’t do that but they do and if Im getting paid that much and in Russ’s even more I wouldn’t care, but maybe Im odd in that sense
