And turned down the chance to play poppop to Ant & Lamelo

I am sure the ‘Prediction’ money makes it worth it!

just a matter of time before the helicopter taxi sponsorship is announced

Both are going to be competing for the title of “most washed” this season

Funny how it’s a PRESEASON GAME that these morons suddenly care so much about stats.

That 2025 opener was the worst game I’ve ever seen him play and it nearly convinced me that he was legit cooked as a real contributor

Rounded himself into shape just fine that season lol

Yeah, he always brings it when it really matters.

He routinely puts up disasters in April/May also

I’d rather talk about practice.

Even during Embiid’s MVP season, every minor thing he did bad was cherry picked and posted on here while his great games had zero interaction. This place is a dumpster fire.

Sometimes I go back to threads from 10 years ago just to remember what it used to be like here.

Way less shitting on players. Way less arguments and nasty comments. Way more memes and gifs. It was so much funnier and light hearted.

Yah this subreddit and all of its posters need to be put on an island and nuked

This is social media for you in general.

It’s either hate or downplaying someone’s achievements, people can be as rude as they want without repercussions because they hide because a screen.

Back in my day (like 10-15 years ago even), you would only have face to face conversations and you wouldn’t be that rude because 1) People will stand up for what they believe and 2) be rude, get punched.

Same as it’s always been

He has a career 52 TS% and a negative AST:TO ratio on opening night. Last year he dropped 4 points on 1-9 from the field. The year before he had 7 turnovers. He puts up some absolute stinkers in October and the same threads get posted every year. It’s probably because he doesn’t play even semi-organized basketball until training camp. Maybe he is totally washed, but preseason performances aren’t going to tell us that

Last seasons opener he shot 1-9 for 4 points against the Celtics. His 1st game the season before he shot 2-11 for 13 points. It’s basically tradition now that he starts off poorly and the narrative is that he’s 100% shot and a liability that should be traded immediately.

I am 100% with you. Loathe Embiid with a fiery passion. I take exactly nothing from this performance.

Same but he’s recovered a lot of goodwill for me from coming back in the middle of the playoffs after surgery for the sole purpose of eliminating the c*ltics, using the last of his knee’s cartilage to do so. On the lovewatch for that

Y’all would be making the same excuses for him if he did this is the playoffs

Oh wait, he played like shit the entire round against the Knicks and y’all made excuses for him

The Bron fans now tuning in as well as the Lakers fans praying that Bron made a terrible mistake will be over analyze everything.

They posted every first half play from a preseason. Genuinely may need to delete this half to preserve my sanity

It’s too early for Embiid to be lookin like this lmao, this is how he’s supposed to look around the all star break before he takes a couple months off to tool up before the playoffs

All the clips posted last night, he looked cooked or gave zero effort. I’m sure he’ll have some decent games but there’s likely more games going forward where we see THIS version of Embiid.

He’s such a careless player

Also can’t handle doubles

Great player, but one who teams can gameplan against

Playoff Embiid

Sir, this is r/NBA. We live for overreaction

Why is he playing 24 minutes in a preseason game??

Lmao these numbers weren’t because he was limit testing 🤦‍♂️ jfc

You think the 10 year vet who is one of the most injury prone players in the league is limit testing in preseason?

Now this is the kinda rhetoric I can get behind!

Facts

We want to see playoff effort in preseason! BODIES ON THE LINE!!

I agree. But at least they have time to fix it

That jumped out, 8 in 24 minutes

This is what people don’t get when they say “preseason doesn’t matter” after a loss. It’s how you lose that can be the problem.

Posting full stat lines from a preseason game like its game 6 of the ECF lmao

Same as the hate for Simmons.

Easy to hate players with weak mentality.

What? This sub doesnt like a flopper? No way who would have thought, so weird right?

He plays like shit and flops. What do you expect. I find it weird that yall defend him so much

He has such a loser mentality. I used to feel bad for him because of injuries but I’m so sick of him falling and flopping around like a baby deer who just discovered they have legs. Someone on the team should slap him for falling into Brown.

it’s a hilariously bad statline. it’s a funny post. get over it.

I was Embiid agnostic until he was pulling on Mitchell Robinsons injured leg. Fuck him.

Flopper, whiner, dirty player, constantly injured, max contract player. Isn’t shy to taunt opposing fans both online and during games.

Not gonna pretend like I know what kind of person he is, but even if it’s a character he’s pretty clearly a heel, if anything he asks for the hate lol

What, you mean the guy that has thrown his teammates under the bus, complained about his peers having more success than him, flops, taunts opponents and the crowd, cried when he lost a game 7, and takes the game so seriously he was on camera eating cheeseburgers on the sideline right before a game?

Yeah man, couldn’t ever understand why some people might look for opportunities to make fun of the guy.

He is like the real life version of a cocky cartoon character that gets humbled by losing every year. It is satisfying to watch villains lose. He’s just not a villain to you because you’re a 76ers fan.

You can’t spend years crotch chopping at crowds to piss them off and then the moment you finally have a team put together that’s the best collection of talent he’s ever played with come out and in the opening moments lay an egg. Like at least play well for a bit and then fail for a compelling story. This was just pathetic. Y’all are not lovable underdogs and Embiid is not just a great guy down on his luck. Not with this team. Play better or get humbled.

Why do you think it’s weird?

They like to operate in the same areas so they need the court time. But to be fair, Brown scored like 18 points in 24 minutes. He adjusted well.

Cause we’ve all watched 10 years of Embiid. He is generationally dog shit in preseason and the opening few weeks of the season every single year. We can hype JB since we’ve never seen him play in a sixers uniform.

Edit: post game thread from game 1 last year

Just search Embiid’s name lmao

Watching basketball is supposed to be fun. Forgive us for focusing on the positives.

Funny, but even funnier coming from a jazz flair
