Luka and Jokic getting the pass of the season contest started early this time. Fun.
Jokic was playing the pass of all time game 😆
Yeah preseason or not I don’t think that Jokic pass is getting beat
Luka did it when he curved the pass across the paint to the corner last year.

This one
What about that lebron one to danny green, that jokic one made me get out my chair, but that lebron one made me run around and cream myself
Y’all need to google nash highlights more often.
I love how Jokic and Luka preseason mentalities are polar opposite. Jokic will basically only pass while Luka will occassionally pass but mainly just throw up bullshit shots that somehow go in
Mamba mentality: Fk it just shoot.
Yes preseason…
that’s how doncic has always shot
#MavsWereRight
Jarace Walker’s last night was better than Luka’s here, imo.
But Jokic’s was unmatched.
Imagine trading that guy
Thank you Nico 🙏
Fuck it’s good to hear Stu again
How does he even know that he’s there.
These players are insanely good.
to be fair he jumped and looked, then passed. If there wasn’t a player open at that moment he was probably fucked.
But there almost certainly would be since 2 defenders were on him. I’m not denying it’s a superb play
Yeah, he knows someone is open and if they are where they should be he has a pass there. If not, he’d probably last second try to throw it off a defender. Still amazing play and IQ.
He had 2 guys. He absolutely knew someone is open
yeah, i feel like the passing accuracy here is much more impressive than the read. he likely knew someone was supposed to be in the corner, jumped to give himself time to double check they were there and there was an angle to get them the ball, and then threw it. the pass itself takes a ton of coordination and i’m not trying to take anything away from that, but i don’t think knowing someone is in the corner is rly the impressive part
I mean guys have their spots. There’s always going to be guys in the corner unless you run a play to cut in or something.
Amazing pass but to answer your question, it’s rare someone isn’t there coming down the court
He tells players not to move on offense. Did the same thing for Mavs. A good chunk of the time players will stay in the exact same spot for very long periods of time. When the defense if focused on one guy it can be easier to forget about the others.
Yup, I’ve heard multiple players say that they kind of had to reprogram how they play and cut or come to the ball a good bit less because Luka explicitly tells them to just stay where they are. I think Grimes, who played with him for a short bit on the Mavs and now the Lakers may have mentioned this recently, too.
While these passes are extremely impressive, NBA players aren’t just standing in random spots. You almost always have a guy in each corner, or at the wing, or at the top of the key, etc. So if you’re a great passer like Luka or Jokic, you know there’s almost certainly a teammate standing at those spots.
He had split second to see it and make that decision at the same time
It’s a great pass but there are almost always players in your corner 3s lol
Step one: Have some Serbian DNA
Step two: Preferably play in Europe before NBA
how the fuck did he pass that
No one posting the one in the second quarter? That shit was even more absurd angle
He was boxed, he jumped away towards the line because thats the only path he had, took a solid second to scount, saw the other guy across and then threw the ball.
Much easier than what Jokic did the other day because he had to look and the other guy had to stretch himself to grab the ball anyway
Sorry, he jumped out of bounds while double teamed above the arc on the right side of the court without looking, then while in the air saw an open man and threw a one-handed skip pass to the left corner that immediately led to a scoring opportunity.
That’s not “much easier” than any pass that’s been thrown in the NBA.
So you said what I said just nicer? It wasn’t a scoring opportunity, ball fell between 2 oppo that his teammate just happened to catch easier but had to pass right after for no shot
His teammate had an immediate pass to an open guy for a dunk because the defense had to scramble after the amazing pass.
yeah lol I can’t tell if I’m being a hater but I’m genuinely not that impressed by this beyond thinking damn Luka is strong as hell
Luka is impressive but people see highlights everywhere because they want to see them
Lebron said nah I’d rather play with WebEmbiid
Im sure lebron would have loved to play with luka in the playoffs
One time he did the team was way worse with him on the floor
Holy fuck how have I missed this nickname until
Now 😭😭😂😭😂😭
Right? This shit got me snorting at 1am in bed
I just don’t think Luka and Lebron are a great fit. And offensively their philosophy are the opposite. Lebron is all about getting the highest% shot, Luka is a a guy that takes alot of low %shots but can make them at a solid rate.
If you watched their games last season especially the months before Luka got injured, you can see how they can fit. Lebron can play that Aaron Gordon connector role on offense.
They cant play reaves luka and bron together because of their defense.
2 of them is fine
Also, if you slot LeBron into this Laker lineup, he perfectly fits in at the four and it’s a better team than present day 76ers in all metrics. Including defense and bench play
Sure Lebron “can” play that role, it’s not ideal though. That also doesn’t change what i said. I watched the games btw.
For a minimum, and with his age, that’s like really the ideal way to play him. It’s like the most compatible Lebron would’ve been with Luka. All he lacked was shooting because it’s especially bad his last season with us due to his back problems.
Luka is an extremely efficient player
LeBron can play with any star player.
Glad we agree.
average r/nba context ignorer. Only missing the top %1 commenter flair
Luka was the one hurt in crunch time last year. Sure Bron would’ve loved to play with him vs OKC
Luka got hurt trying to carry the team to a decent seeding while Lebron sat
Lebron missed the first 25% of the season and Lakers were still a top 2 seed
Look at the teams they were beating. A lot of booty cheeks
only time Lakers beat the Spurs last season was without Lebron
Lakers fans are the ones who wanted Lebron out the whole season.
Most ungrateful online fanbase in the game by far.
Out if he wants a big contract.
Almost everyone would want LeBron for the vet min.
To suggest otherwise is just intentionally being dishonest.
this
You don’t deserve a guy to take a paycut for you when you shit on him for an entire season.
Man stfu, you have no idea wtf you’re talking up at all.
Most lakers fans gave LeBron insane props for being willing to be the third option leading to a great 17-2 mark in March and also in carrying an injured team over the Rockets in the first round.
There are a lot of reasons to hate Lakers fans but this is so dumb lmaoooo get a grip
Lebron want JJ as coach, Lakers got him JJ as coach
Lebron wanted his nepo baby son drafted, they got his nepo baby son drafted
Lebron was willing to take a paycut for anybody BUT the Lakers. him and his fans are the most ungrateful fanbase
Lebron want Westbrook, lakers got him Westbrook. Plan goes to shit. Lebron blames lakers.
Him and his klutch squad aren’t worth the headache if he’s not delivering a ring.
JJ got hired because he’s a good coach and Bronny was drafted in the second round because he’s a second round pick.
It’s shit like this. Blame everything that went wrong on one guy.
Why did you extend JJ if you only hired him because of Lebron?
based on what? JJ had zero coaching resume before that beside his kids middle school team or some shit lol
yall the ones blaming the Lakers as if they didn’t appease Lebron and Lebron had no say and did nothing wrong
this is why nobody likes Lebron fans after he leaves. yall root for his former teams to fail
Insanely bad take. If he signed for the minimum the lakers would have taken it but he’s not worth a big contract and the team obviously has to adjust everything to accommodate him play style wise. It makes no sense.
The prospect of LeBron is very different for 20+ million and the vet min though.
Correct. Mine are for basketball reasons mostly.
It is such a big group of people I’d be careful placing a black and white label on all of them.
This also applies to…everything.
Indeed

Embiid didn’t even make playoffs in 2025 so idk what you talking about
Embiid even missed half of last year’s playoffs and averaged 24/8/5 on 46% from field, 18% from 3pt
Luka averaged 30/7/6 on 45% from field, 35% from 3pt
Let’s see if Luka can do this in the playoffs for the Lakers first
Yeah, I wonder who was on the mavs in 2024. Hmmm
Yeah I wonder who was in street clothes in 2026 hmmm
You expect him to play with an injury lol? What is your logic.
[removed]
Why did the ref not call the extremely obvious foul just before the pass? The ref was three feet away and staring directly at the play.
Give me a Lakers Nuggets Playoff series RIGHT NOW.
I need a luka jokic playoff series this year it’s about damn time
all offense no defense, a total score of 300
It’ll be entertaining as fuck though, neither team can guard the other as constructed
That’s some crazy defense for preseason.
Installing habits I guess lol
Dude’s vision is insane
bruh. some people are just built different
Cardwell’s arm-grabs per 36 going crazy on this possession
Luka is unfair
20 years from now Kessler will be announcing on TV. He sounds like a natural.
Somehow I expected Walker Kessler to have a thicker accent than that.
It’s the European flavor you see even in football with passing, US seem to be less students of the game and more athletes
Bearded Luka
I feel like these passes are less impressive when you consider that their teammates have to spread the floor in specific spots, so you just got to throw a ball over there and they should catch it. If they miss the ball its on them at that point. The ones that are more impressive to me are when their teammate is actually on the move and they hit them with a blind pass then. The level of difficulty there is way higher for all the extra variables at play.
yall really glazing a desperation cross court heave?
If you can watch that and not understand how impressive the pass is idk what to tell you lol did you ever play basketball?
I thinks ur the one that never played basketball lol
Yeah maybe go to a gym someday 😂😂😂
I agree, it wasn’t that impressive of a pass for an NBA player. The pass was way off. If the pass landed in the pocket, then that would have been more impressive.
Jokic’s perfect behind the back pass into the shooter’s pocket was 100x more impressive.
Pass wasn’t good at all lol. The only hard part was avoiding the deflection
Yeah this wasn’t even a crazy pass. This place just loves Luka
Name everyone in the league that could actually make that pass
Every single one and two guard and probably 30% of the wings. What do you think he did here that was impressive? He jumped up and threw the ball to an open guy. Yall talking like he no looked it right into the shooting pocket
Let me guess, your favorite player is Lebron and you want the lakers to fail without him to prove his greatness
you’re genuinely delusional
If it was easy to do that pass, then players would do it all the time. They don’t
That takes extreme strength to jump up and then throw it all the way across court. And Luka jumped up high to do it and get over the defenders.
Idk bro maybe go on a basketball court and have people block you and see how far your ball goes when you jump up and pass it lol. You’ll realize how hard that is
gotta make his Ex read it then
How the hell does he look chubby already
