It still hurts man
Cooper gonna be an all nba player. But he’ll never have Luka’s aura
Imagine a world in which they didn’t luck into cooper, they’d be in such a dark spot right now
I don’t think they lucked in.
I think silver wanted Luka in LA. So the la market could have a star after Bron retired. And Dallas was given cooper through a fixed lottery.
part of me obviously thanks the universe everyday for cooper flagg, but another part also wishes dumont and adelson would’ve gotten what was coming for them and actually had to to watch the franchise burn to the ground
assuming they just stay at pick 13, this year they’d have under 20 wins instead of 26 and then prolly gets them 1st pick this year (AJ)
We’re 1 Noa Essengue away from folding the fucking franchise
Is Copper going to have a career like Blake Griffin?
Wayyyyy better than Blake griffin. I think cooper will be the 2nd best player in the league one day behind wemby
Sorry bro. Come join us at the Lakers, it’s a party over here!
Me and many others fans just did that. It makes much more sense to cheer for a player than for a team. A team has no identity. Luka is bigger than Mavs.
I swear I was about to comment “gotta be hard to watch as a Mavs fan” lol.
Flagg might end up being better with height and defense
This shit just makes me smile man
the duality of man

Idk if it will lead to anything in the playoffs, but I am expecting a 2024 type season from Luka if relatively healthy. Think he will score an absolute ass-ton of points and the only thing stopping him from MVP will likely be his team’s record.
Will we ever get to a time where MVP isn’t so tied to the teams record tho, all teams don’t have the same level of talent. A great player on a better team shouldn’t get so boosted to the top over a great player on a team with less talent. Why can’t voters be more objective and simply vote for the best player based on the players performance
Jokic won it as a 6th seed didnt he? It’s really all about narratives lol
If you finish as like a 6th seed I just don’t see how it’s valuable is the thing. I think top 4 under most season circumstances makes sense. It’s when things like last year happen that bother me. It is obvious Wemby (I don’t even like him) and Jokic were far more valuable but Shai won based on mostly record. I understand his scoring and efficiency shit, games played for the other two etc.
I mean Wemby was out for a little and came back with a minutes restriction for a long ass time. And the spurs were winning regardless of how much he played if at all
How hard is it to understand, not all teams have the same talent. Really not that hard to grasp
If you take a player off a 6th seed team that’ll most likely finish near the bottom of the league without him
And you take a player off a 1st seed team that could still make the playoffs as a 5th or 6th seed or even compete for home court
Who’s more valuable?
I’m asking hypothetically, not referring to any real players btw. Just to see if this helps you understand
How is it “obvious” that jokic and wemby are more valuable? This argument is so dumb. Being the primary offensive focus, doing it at elite efficiency, and winning basketball games is literally the definition of value. Losing basketball games is not valuable. Was this incredible value demonstrated by losing to Jaden McDaniels and the timberwolves bench?
If the argument is that the best player on bad teams should win awards then let’s just go ahead and give the MVP to Trae Young or something.
No because the voters are mostly clueless.
But then they randomly make exceptions for lower seeds like with Jokic and Westbrook, just no consistency
100% agree. A player who elevates their team from no chance of seeing the playoffs to a 2nd round exit or whatever is probably more valuable than a player who takes their team from #2 to #1.
Agreed.
Baseball does it the best. Best player almost always gets it. Team record really doesn’t matter.
I feel like if he scores even more than usual this season, it probably means that the Lakers kind of suck and need him to score. The ideal statline for him would probably see an increase in the assist numbers and like 28/8/12 instead of 36/8/7. For the MVP thing, he ain’t winning it because the voters made it clear they don2t like him.
I think with the way basketball is played today anything under 30 is a failure, even with a balanced effort. Teams putting up 110+ every game you have to expect more than a quarter from your superstar imo
Good take
Oh, a prior scoring champ in his prime is going to be a great player if he’s healthy?
why the fuck did he decide to land like that?
He had to squirt out the shot
Bruh what chill
You just don’t get it man
Think he was trying to put some more into the lift of his shot.
He got like 0.0001 seconds of hang time
that’s that LuFuckYou 3

That’s just nasty
I hope Luka is healthy for the playoffs, he’s best and happiest taking tough shots.
He’s not even locked in tonight

Insanely talented
