We’ve always hoped that he could be something of a lite version of Draymond Green.

He’s definitely been inconsistent but he looked good last night. Hopefully he’s able to keep this up and show some sustained improvement

So late career Boris Diaw?

But with more athleticism. That’s a good player

As a pacer fan Boris was strong and smart as hell, Jarace hasn’t shown much of either (and generally has just shown inconsistent flashes) but preseason is very encouraging

More defensively tilted than Diaw

The commentator said after his first assist that passing was his best skill, and as somebody who hasn’t seen much of him other than remembering on draft night that he said he liked the Jays, was startled by that, but turns out the commentator was prescient.

He could be a really big piece for the Pacers this year, their small ball lineups are going to be impossible to defend with Hali, their ball movement, and their array of play finishers.

His vision and passing is great. His decision making isn’t. He sees the open guy but throws risky passes and ⁵⁰⁄₅₀ lobs. He knows where the ball should be and who has the space but instead of doing the hockey assist he skip passes through 3 guys.

He also gambles defensively which isnt necessary for his size, speed and strength.

If he can manage the risk on both sides of the floor hes going to find success.
