The Warriors honor Don Nelson (RIP)
Don definitely deserves to be honored. All-time great coach. Contributed so much to the league.
Maybe not in a preseason game
This is NBCBA’s first broadcast of the season. They’re setting up that this is a season honoring Nelly.
RIP. Nellie the coach I grew up with. Smoke one for the OG tonight.
Don is an all time great coach.
I remember the Run TMC years and how Nellie built a team that I thought would be a potential title contender with Timmy, Mullie, CWebb, Spree until it all blew up because of Webber.
Then when he came back and had the We Believe year. That was an incredible run and helped me get through the years of Cohan.
RIP Nellie, the true OG of Small Ball.Blaze on💨 💨
He screwed up trading Mitch Richmond for Billy Owens.
He’s a true legend. I started watching the Warriors about 1988-89 on a huge black mesh satellite dish. They just got Steve Alford then Run TMC started. His teams were fun to watch.
Nelson is more of a Buck than a Warrior
Mullen legend, but why Sjax and Barnes? They were good players, but cmon yall. Top tier podcasters, but in the NBA they weren’t special
the we believe team is culturally significant in the bay area
For one season in which they made it to the second round? Had the dynasty shortly after…
yes. it’s a region that loves basketball, had a huge playoff drought, barely made the 8th seed, and then upset the peak Dirk mavs. it’s a big deal. Dirk punched a hole in the wall at Oracle after they lost, and they framed it and moved it to the chase center when they went to sf.
Doesn’t matter. That team will always be remembered for what they did for the Bay during our down years.
