Kid got game
Not nba related but nice pfp. OG divine rapier from the dota 1 days. Respect
Yaxel is huge and he impacts the game on both ends and hustles for board. He will be very good in his rookie year
Yax is 6’9 playing against a Lakers team without a center lol
Our centers are smaller than Yax…
Bassey is smaller?
Lmao of course the Kumingasexual hates Yaxel
i watch a fuckton of college basketball and i watched a lot of yaxel’s games over the past two years.
yaxel is * really, really * good.
a lot of people discount him because he’s old yadda yadda, but he has all of the tools to be an exceptional nba player.
he has the big, physical nba body. very high basketball iq. in d-1 defended 1-5. can get downhill. can hit the 3. can initiate your offense.
he is a genuine jack-of-all trades player that is ready to go and produce right out of the gate.
anybody that said he’s gonna be a bust because he’s “old” or he’s “dalton knect 2.0” either doesnt understand basketball or hasn’t watched any of his games.
I never watch CBB and never heard of him before he was drafted. I saw him give an interview of how he was a knucklehead in high school and headed on the wrong path until his mom went nuclear on his ass about wasting his potential. He realized she was right and he didn’t want to disappoint her anymore.
Did a 180 in his life and now here he is making momma proud. I’ll always be pulling for him to succeed.
yup. i dont know the whole story but its my understanding that he was basically fucking off and wasting his life playing video games and almost failing out of school until his mother freaked out on him and made him take basketball/school seriously.
she now has stage 4 cancer and watching the two of them together on draft night was one of the most genuinely moving things ive ever seen in any sports draft coverage
he has a fantastic feel for the game and a spicy personality. definitely worth following.
Yep that’s the interview that I saw.
One of the worst days of my life was being with a friend in the oncology office. The Dr told her she had stage 4 cancer. My dumbass trying to be positive asked about Stage 5. His answer was there is no Stage 5. 😢
The thing is we have stats nowadays that adjust for age. If anything, these metrics unfairly punish older players since they’re based on pre-NIL data (when older players only stayed bc they weren’t good enough for the NBA). Despite being 23, Yaxel had the 12th highest age-adjusted BPM in the class. His game is pretty much flawless for a role player. Can dribble, pass, shoot, defend, and rebound already. Plug and play starter on a rookie contract for the next 4 years
In preseason is crazy
I’d be over the moon if I were a Warriors fan watching Yaxel hoop like this. Hopefully, Wiseman can also revive his career under Mike Brown and finally become the player Curry always envisioned he could be
He got the bucket and foul plus they are up 20 but i wonder if they go back in film and say hey mate well done but you have the GOAT shooter alone on the wing instead of running through a double team.
i think steph would be stoked to finally have a teammate that doesn’t just pass to him and then stand in the corner lol
I don’t think so, they have been wanting Yaxel to be more aggressive
People are gonna enjoy when he gets baptized.
Didn’t Thierro do it already lol
I like
LaRavia is so bad, man.
Yaxel is nice but I just think LaRavia is probably one of the worst players who is gonna get legit minutes on a non-awful team.
Agreed.
Been saying this tbh, he really is too small for a PF and too big for a SF. In that awkward Kuzma size where he can’t move fast enough or hold his own against bigger players
How is he too small for a PF? His wingspan is the 95th percentile of all NBA PFs. He’s bigger than most NBA PFs? His weight is also in the top quartile for all NBA PFs already. There literally aren’t many PFs bigger than him.
I’m talking about LaRavia
Makes sense. The other comments (who replied an hour before me) all think it’s about Yaxel so I assumed it was too. I agree Laravia is a bit weird but you don’t have a true PF on your team. Even Mamu is more like a PF/C. Rui was a true PF.
Sounds familiar
The Warriors will never succeed with a versatile SF/PF tweener from a Michigan school.
I was referring to LaRavia
Let alone one that can shoot and came into the league a bit older.
One of those great college basketball players that doesn’t excel in any one particular area … Tweener, undersized for a physical forward yet lacks the athleticism of a wing … Lacks explosiveness, agility, elusiveness and quickness off the bounce … Under the rim finisher, which is troublesome when you consider his size … Not a threat to shake his defender off the dribble … Minimal upside … Vulnerable defending quicker guards on the perimeter
hmmm
LMAO, my bad.
But I think LaRavia is a decent defender. He’s better on that end than on offense.
You’re seriously comping him to one of the greatest defenders ever after 1 preseason game? Chill bro
I’m saying the “tweener” label is bad and outdated.
Kuzma sucked because he was a bad defender, not because he was a tweener.
Sorry where was the taunt?
Dawg, it’s a 15-second video. Just watch it
In the preseason is nuts. Buddy you’ll be lucky to make the play-in this year
