It’s actually the support that is the problem when the knee goes into valgus (inward dip). You got your foot stuck on the ground and the body continuing to move, while the glutes and hammies lose control (or are unable to keep control) of what the knee is doing and you get shear forces through the knee - the femur tries to go left right forward or back over/away from the top of the calf bones.
Here, his foot isn’t quite planted, and he’s so off balance over that leg (obviously not his fault) that he tries to regain balance by shifting off it. That plus clearly he’s pretty well built - strong-ass muscles and tendons helping keep everything together - you can his knee rebounds back out pretty quickly without his weight going through it. Still lucky of course.

Agreed tbh, his athleticism is the only thing he does really well so far. Still one of those “if he develops a shot” players. His defense needs work and he needs to stay healthy as well.

I really hope this guy learns how to land/maintain his play for an NBA season. It seems like he’s giving every play every last ounce of his effort, which is terrific, but I don’t see this style of play lasting even half an NBA season.
