Remember his debut when he turned into a trebuchet from 3 randomly
I remember the bar and the drink I had in my hand.
I turned to my casual ball knowing friend and said. “Bro, this dude is going to be a fucking problem.”
He was, in fact, not a problem.
Well, he was. For the Pelicans.
Still is
Existence is pain.
I mean his sophomore season was incredible
I was at a sushi restaurant with my wife. Kind of a where-were-you moment.
Still married?
I remember him blowing out his shoe.
He did that once at Duke, did it happen in the pros too?
Like in one of his first games in the pros I think
More like a ballista, compact and line drives
We are so back.Never been there before
I’m ready to get hurt again.
So mad this dude had the issues he had in the league, we were robbed of an all time electric player
There’s still time
We’ll never see the Zion that could’ve existed if he took care of his body starting from high school. His Duke athleticism is still unmatched. Anyone who watched him at Duke and then saw his first preseason game can tell you he lost a massive step. He still had ultra elite stretches of games in the NBA, but he was playing with a body he was not conditioning properly. He was so light on his feet at Duke. I don’t think a player’s physical ability has ever awed me like Duke Zion. He literally floated like he was Derrick Rose while being built like a refrigerator at 6’7. He gained significant weight before even starting his first preseason game. I think it was that very first game he had a sick dunk, but you could tell he wasn’t moving the same. Even then, he was not effortlessly gliding through the air like he did at Duke. It’s sad man. Pisses me off
Are you thinking of his NBA Summer League debut when he ripped the ball away from Kevin Knox and dunked it?
Nah, that Zion is gone. He can still be a very good player, but the Shaq-level impossible to guard in the paint Zion is gone.
That was a very quick release. Noticeably faster than before.
Is it just me or has his jumper gotten noticeably smoother since his Duke/early NBA days? I feel like I’ve never noticed it before. (Probably because he hasn’t been on the floor enough)
That jumper in this clip looks way better than last year even
Nice to see him be healthy and balling out
Don’t jinx it..
He looked a bit lumpy running up and down the court. Could be just his normal stride but still looks like he’s limping a bit
I miss the days of watching him dominate at Duke. Thought he was going to rule the NBA for years as long as his knee, ankle, or shoes didn’t blow out!
Now it’s just a surprise to catch a Pelicans game on television when he’s actually in uniform.
Ok ive seen enough… Pelicans are finishing top 12 in the West lol
The annual pre-season Zion highlights
I will never give up on this dude
fool me once - shame on you
fool me 8 years in a row - cant be fooled again
Rare? He started 4-4 exploding into the pros. Don’t ask why I remember.
A huge three to cut the lead to 19!
The 3 is nice but if that’s what counts as a noteworthy Zion dunk now then shit man lol
he still looks quiet heavy with the same movement pattern issues that were analyzed millions of times before..
Down 30
Year of the comebacks! Zion and Ben.
Bozo. Bozo did the dub
ai
A 3 and a dunk - incredible how far Zion excitement expectations have fallen
He’s so fucking good!!1
He’ll be injured for 3 months before the all-star this season. 😅
