LeBron James Jr. turns 22 years old today.
Legit NBA player drafted at 55 off of a severe heart issue
Can’t ask for more.
It really is a good story. People didn’t know his heart literally stopped before college and he got judged harshly for the drop in play in college. He was a projected draft pick before that heart issue and he’s back to that path now.
I still think he should’ve stayed in college longer to flesh out his game more, but if you’re just judging him off of being the 55th pick then he was a slam dunk pick. He probably doesn’t get drafter that year if his name wasn’t LeBron Jr. but if he’d stayed in college an extra year or two then I think he could’ve been a late 1st rounder just based off his IQ and athleticism.
It’s not a bad pick since you don’t expect the 55th pick to add anything 80% of the time, but I don’t think he can be a slam dunk unless he contributes to winning at an NBA level. You wouldn’t really expect anything else, but he’s been one of the worst players in the league
Never understood this sentiment. Why “flesh out” your game in college when you can practice and play against actual NBA players and get training from elite coaching staff?
Great Make-A-Wish story.
I think the final piece he needs to be a rotation guy is his shot. If he became a 35+ percent shooter from three he’d be in line to get minutes
He shot 38% last season, actually.
The problem is they’re all super wide open practice gym 3s because nobody guards him away from the ball, so that’s still not a good percentage.
Yeah I was gonna say, he would pass up on tough shots and only take whatever was open. Plus it’s on low volume so it’s very hard to determine if it’s just variance or not. I’m rooting for him, but I gotta see more volume outta him
Is passing up on tough shots and taking wide open shots a bad thing? 🤔 Barring it wasn’t already the best look on the clock winding down.
The volume is so ridiculously low that it doesn’t mean anything either way tbh. The shot looks good to me though
That’s really it, but it is important. He can make good reads, he can defend, but if you’re no threat to score you can’t really play.
Lakers need to lock him in a room and watch GP2 2022 highlights.
That’s the type of player he should learn from imo.
Feel like Bronny would have been a superstar football player with his build.
But I fully understand not going that route. He’s set for life no matter what no reason to fuck with the negatives of football
Feel like neither of Bron’s sons got the best of both worlds
Bronny has the athleticism and muscle of LeBron but his short
Bryce has the height but is lanky in stature. That ofc can change overtime
Bryce and Bronny (to a lesser extent) have always struck me as people who really doesn’t care about basketball that much.
Like I’m sure they enjoy it, but they don’t seem obsessed with it the way some guys are. I’ve always kinda gotten the feeling that they play basketball cause their dad is LeBron. Not because it’s their passion. Also, like you said, they got enough natural gifts to be good but not great at it.
Bronny could easily be in a mansion right now streaming with Kai or PBM, Faze (he’s already a member technically) etc. if he wanted to. He literally died on the court and still decided ball was for him. How many 18 year olds who grew up rich would fight through that kind of thing if they didn’t love what they do?
What are you basing this off?
LeBron’s mom forbade him from playing football for that reason
He still played
Dude would be an electric safety or defensive back. Could probably play any skills position really but he’s so explosive and athletic like Kam Chancellor.
I though he was 6’-6” and was going to point out that’s too tall, but he’s 6-2????? Goddamn sign him saints please
“Le-jame- bronnyyy” lmaoaoa they didn’t know if it was bronny or bron who caught that lob
Is there any chance he dunks on his dad when the Sixers play the Lakers?
If he lasts in the league long-term that would mean LeBron would have been in the league for 35+ years
Bron takes off the same exact way lmao, just much higher
Same animation package
LeBron James the II
Kid’s having fun out there
AR just loves lobbing it to a James, doesn’t he?
I hope he’s able to have a legit career.
People can be shitty about it if they want but I think it’s cool him and his dad got to play together 🤷
he changed his name to Jamer Jr? in the jersey
It’s always been James jr.
thought he had bronny as a jersery name
Your last name has to go on your jersey lol
Bronny is just a nickname
