Why would anyone say that? He was over 40 percent from 3 in college and over 80 percent from the FT line in college.

He’ll probably be relatively inefficient his rookie year though since the longer 3 point line usually takes a few years to adjust to but that was never a weakness as a prospect.

He was an insane 3 point shooter his year in college

Literally one of the best shooters in college last year, best all around offensive player too.

It’s because his summer league was really bad. In college he was scoring from anywhere he wanted

1. nobody was claiming that 2) he shot only four threes and only made 1 of the few he took. Weird comment.

That’s a misconception. He should be treated more like Kyrie to a LeBron or a Murray to a Jokic or a Parker to a Duncan. Murray isn’t as small but he’s a terrible defender to the point he’s like a small guard. All 3 of these guards won championships as the second best player as the PG. Maybe you can get lucky and it becomes Brunson as the best player but the Kings shouldn’t think of Acuff as being locked into that number 1 guy. If they think of him as that number 1 guy already, that’s where you run into trouble, especially because someone like Trae can’t play without the ball since he was already chosen to be the guy on day one.

They gotta get lucky like the Nuggets got with Jokic in that that best player is someone they either get later with a top 3 pick since they’ll be bad for a few more years or just randomly get him later in the second by luck. Acuff’s defense will also get better if he’s not always the clear number one the entire time since he can use more defensive energy.

I thought he showed more effort on-man defense in this game than Trae did his entire career (Trae usually plays for the passing lanes). He’s much stronger than Trae and has a bigger wingspan.

the guy who dropped 45 with an injured primary shooting hand??

We can give you two second round picks and one lightly used Gradey Dick jersey. Just think of it as a massive condom.

I believe he was referring to the fans

why would you actually wish for any team in the nba to not have something go right for them?

like seriously what would make you comment “no they don’t” about any team or its fans

just crazy.

Shut up doofus

Just because our team drafted a player who looks good doesnt mean you gotta go around talking him up as the greatest pick ever and talking down everyone else

That’s why everyone here hates Laker fans. Cringe ass teenager main character energy, take it to the Lakers sub where we can be over-delusional in peace

Absolutely he will be one of the worst this upcoming 26-27 season, but frankly the worst defenders in the league are almost always rookies. The question will be whether he starts looking good on rotations, making the right decisions, and putting in real defensive effort as the season wears on.

I think he has the tools to be an average defender (he’s much bigger/longer than a guy like Trae Young, for example). He had a lot of very poor defensive habits in college, but you can at least talk yourself into excusing that because he was the offensive engine on his team and played massive minutes.

We will see if the Kings can get him to buy-in on that end as he develops.

He got abused tonight defensively multiple times already. He’s just too small.
