Uh. His name is LeBron “LeBron James Jr” James Jr
Drop the Jr, change his # to 23, become the 5th most sold jersey from the clearance section sale 🧠
This is some UnderwoodXUnderwood House of Cards bullshit
The LeBron James of Basketball
Bball Bron
You misinterpreted him.
His name is Bronald.
Takes me back to the Joe “Joe Miller” Miller days.
Gary Harris just shed a tear looking down from the Heavan
I assure you, Gary Harris is very much alive
Once again Wade Boggs is still very much alive
Lebron ““Dont call me LeBron James Jr” Lebron James Jr” James Jr
Is this a Joe ““Don’t call me Joe Miller” Miller reference?
Hell yeah it is
That’s future MVP Bronny “LeBron” James Jr
This is the kinda stuff that’ll earn him his roster spot and hopefully rotation minutes, I believe
He didnt hesitate taking the 3 there. Previous years he would have passed it.
Yep, attacked the basket at least a couple of times to initiate plays.
Hustling on defense, he might not be in the rotation, but he certainly gives them depth as far as a real nba player.
Legitimately the spectre of dad being gone might be huge for his growth. He definitely should not have been drafted when he was, but 3 years on he’s gotten his LeBron mandated development that normal rotation types would have gotten in college.
Imagine working with your dad in your early 20s.
Now imagine him being top two in his field to ever exist.
I love my father and we have a great relationship, but, I suspect I could be my own man a bit simpler without him meeting me at work every morning. More aptly, beating me into the office every day putting in maximum effort before I rolled out of bed.
I dunno. I’m looking forward to seeing the guy try and make his own way.
Eh, he was drafted at the tail end of the draft. Most of those dudes are a gamble on if they are worth it at all. I wouldn’t say it’s such an egregious pick that he “definitely should not have been drafted where he was” when the alternative is essentially not being drafted.
“A tree cannot grow in its parent’s shadow”
late 2nd round pick is fine to gamble on…why do people think the Lakers should have picked someone else…they proved themselves right already.
Pick 55 for a once great prospect that didn’t develop through the later years before the NBA because of heart issues sounds like something any front office would do
I think people overvalue how much development you actually do in college. Like college coaches don’t care if u turn into a competent nba level player or not. Calipari was kinda one of those coaches and it would help recruiting but now with NIL it’s about the $. But college coaches care about what you can do for their team rn not how your game will look in a couple years at the pro level.
Previous years he’d hold it for a bit, think about shooting, and pass it*
I think he’s earned a rotation spot for sure. He’s not blowing anybody away with his play but he plays within himself on offense and is a solid defender.
100%. I think Lebron James spot roster spot is pretty safe. He actually looks like a basketball player and it’s been pretty cool seeing him develop in the past three years. I doubt his second contract will be anything significant so we might as well keep and continue to develop him. He’s been showing growth every year.
LeGovernment Name
He won’t be in the rotation. He’s got AR, Sexton, Thybulle, and Grimes ahead of him at the guard position. Bronny will def be next guy up. I feel like he is pretty trusted.
Thybulle is a SF and could barely muster up 45 games over the last two seasons, he may not get a ton of run, but he’ll still get some run either way.
Like I said, he isn’t in the main rotation. He’ll be next up whenever someone gets injured which is inevitable.
Thybulle is a 2⁄3 defensively and will primarily be a 2 on this team since the Lakers have lots of wings that they want to play at the 3⁄4 (Luka, Mamu, LaRavia, Zairie, Thiero). I’m aware of Thybulle’s injury issues which is why I said Bronny will be the next guy up.
He’ll get his minutes and I expect he’ll be mostly fine like he was in the Rockets series last year.
All you need to be a 9th/10th man in the league is:
Don’t be a traffic cone on defense.
Have enough of a 3pt shot that, at minimum, you can’t be left wide open in the corner
Put in lots of effort and win hustle plays
If you can do those three things, you can stick around the league for several years as a bench guy no matter what other shortcomings you have.
He’s genuinely more impactful than Knect and LaRavia
i don’t get the laravia hate. he had a bad playoff run yeah but he is a solid reg season player who can do a little bit of everything
he was one of the worst role players I’ve ever seen last year. Absolutely no offensive contributions and he tries hard defensively but isn’t some great defender at all.
was a negative on the floor at most times last season.
LaRavia was very effective in this game but I have seen him kinda suck at times too. Maybe he ups his game this year? But he’s definitely more solid than bronny has been so far in his entire career. And i think bronny isn’t bad either.
He’s not more impactful than Laravia, be for real
Agreed being able to score is typically a requirement of a basketball player
Vando missed that memo
Ehh not always. Look at Rodman and Ben Wallace. But I get the point lol
He’s 1-5. He didn’t shoot well in the last two pre-seasons either.
Bronny: On the sides, right…. right?
Lebron: 🙃
This is the kinda stuff that will make Bronny the repeat champion of the highest ratio of baskets made to top of r/nba highlights.
One basket in 5 attempts in 16 minutes, and he already has the top spot in the subreddit.
Making a wide open three in preseason? Wow so impressive
He will pass that ball if that was previous seasons. Him taking it without hesitation is an improvement itself.
15:53 minutes of play today:
1 of 5 FG (20.0%)
1 of 2 3PT (50.0%)
4 personal fouls
No, he has not improved. Take the rose-tinted goggles off. If he weren’t a famous kid’s son nobody would be looking twice at him. I dare someone to separate his stats and Knect’s right now, objectively.
WHATS A KING(S) TO A GOD
His dad, apparently.
I’ve seen enough, give this dude the max
$200m and a weight clause best we can do
Not bad for a hundred year contract
Id take that, 2M a year for the rest of my life and invest smart, awwww yeah babyyy
I think literally all of us would take that.
Except anyone named jalen.
not watching the game, has Acuff’s defense been as advertised? truly was one of the worst i’d seen out of college.
this was a very bad choice by him, i get he got the steal earlier but it’s dumb to gamble that hard a lot.
He’s been attacked a few times but he’s definitely looked engaged on that end.
I’m very happy that it looks like his conditioning is significantly improved since summer league. He will be 100% ready for the regular season and the offense is going to be fantastic.
engaged is the best thing for him. To be honest, in college I don’t think he actually knew where to stand on defense. In the highlights i’ve definitely seen some ball watching so that’s good those plays aren’t as standard as in college
And I’m not really horribly concerned if he has problems defensively early. We will suck either way, and I’ve seen so many times where teams try to overcorrect on a players flaws early that they regress in other areas (Keegan). Offense is his bread and butter, so I hope we keep it simple and let him gradually make little adjustments on the defensive end.
He was only specifically attacked a couple of times. I expect it to be much more of a problem in the regular season when teams start implementing more specific strategies.
But from what I saw, he’s gonna give up a lot. He’s tough as hell offensively, though. S a polished offensive game
It’s not worse than rookie Trae defense and his offense looks extremely steady
how are we measuring that? that’s not really the highest praise for a defender either…
I guess they just saying that Trae has had a very successful career in the league despite being the defender that he is
i don’t dissagree with that but he’s still in the running for “worst defender in the league” discussions
He got blown by a couple times, but overall looked much improved from summer league. He didn’t look bad.
Even in SL it was obvious that his defense was nowhere near as bad as his college tape. Same for this one. He’s still pretty bad, but the college tape and stats were both “worst defender in the history of basketball by a large margin “
He’s putting in effort, which he basically never did in college. He’s fighting around screens (albeit not very well), which he never did in college. He’s hustling for rebounds, which he never did in college. He’s rarely-to-never standing around defending nothing, which he did frequently in college. He’s even made an average of maybe 1-2 really solid defensive plays per game so far (blocks, steals, cutting off drives, that sort of thing).
I think he will learn not to gamble for steals like this, he is a smart player and hard worker. And then he will just be a regular poor defender like a Brunson or Kyrie or Hali etc. He doesn’t have the extremely severe physical limitations of guys like Trae or Isaiah Thomas, he’s about average height for a PG with plus wingspan and very strong for his size.
his defense was pretty terrible in summer league man. i gotta say
Did I say it wasn’t? I straight up said he’s still been pretty bad and will probably max out as a poor defender.
You asked if it’s been as bad as advertised, so clearly you haven’t watched him as a King, didn’t watch his college tape, or both. Having watched a lot of his college tape and all of his minutes as a King so far, I am telling you the answer to your question is “no.”
He has been (and will be) a negative on defense, and yet still has not been anywhere near as bad as he was in college.
Bronny giving Acuff his welcome to the NBA moment 😤
/s
That’s 3 year vet Bronny James. Drop the /s bro
I hope they add 1 more for each year, just to spite you!!
Should have hit him with the “Rookie mistake” on the jog back down the court.
nice try
Almost
Then the “he’s too small” gesture to the opposing bench
Then the “big balls” dance baseline to baseline
I feel like this doesn’t have to have the /s. It’s one play but shows you the talent level in NBA is high even for end of the bench guys.
Basketball James Jr
Bronny is so fraudulent. He’s legit only in the league because of his father, his shooting, poa defense, motor and hustle, playmaking, athleticism, upside, and being by all accounts and a nice guy and good teammate. That’s IT
You forgot “team player” and “good soul”.
He’s a stand up guy. Gym rat for white guys. Firecracker for Latino.
(Not racist its from a show)
> Celtics
> Not racist
🤔🤔🤔
It’s funny because the only “fradulent” thing about him was being picked as a freshman. Without being LBJ’s kid, he’d probably be a multi-year college player and still end up being quite good.
Right?!
yea and his stats! No? Not that? ok…
He was also nearly a dead last pick in the 2nd round.
Idk why he has to even be good, he can just be okayish lol. Worse players have made decent runs with less.
Lol
Kind of a weird post to be making this argument
There are comments here calling him starter quality with a lot upvotes. I dont know if it’s delusion or stupidity.
there are a lot of children in Los Angeles
The same generation that will tell you the league is wayyyy more talented today will also tell you this and not find it ironic.
Do you know of goomba fallacy ?
Too many of them are the same person to be the goomba fallacy.
Bronny discourse is just rage bait. Bronny shoots 1-5, but that one make will be posted and people start talking crazy.
He’s 100% starter quality for a team like the Knicks
Are you trying to be funny or are you just stupid? Hard to tell.
I mean seems like you’re stupid for not seeing it
Bronny has a much higher ceiling than Brunson
He’s 1-5 but his one make gets it’s own post because he’s LeBron’s son.
yeah I mean he’s not an all star but he is an objectively strong 55th pick and on pace to have a solid career.
I honestly don’t get the hate boner for Bronny lmao
Second to last pick who improves every year, brings no controversy, and people want him out the league despite there being plenty worse players.
Mac McClung gets everyone hoping he pans out, Bronny gets prayers for his downfall
Bronny gets the top post on r/nba for making a wide-open 3 after his defender removes himself from the play. Mac McClung doesn’t get that same attention.
It’s a combo of the nepotism sht and LeBron of course. Idk if it’s just an internet and social media thing now but I feel like all of the sudden people care way more about nepotism. Maybe it was just because of LeBron but there’s so nepotism going on in alot of other places. Even in sports with coaches and executives but nobody says anything about that. It’s weird
to them Bronny is a proxy for hating Lebron, because there is literally no other reason to hate Bronny the person.
He’s a guard who doesn’t score. Tonight he was playing against other backups.
Objectively?
objectively= his stupid ass opinion
solid career lmfao
I wouldn’t go as far to say he’s a good 55th pick. He’d need to be able to be a rotation piece in the playoffs. That’s gotta be better than a bottom 5 of the roster
A good 55th pick just means you caught on the roster. The expectation for a 55th pick is out the league in 3 years
I don’t think you know what a typical 55th pick looks like.
Maybe even get a lob assist from dad in meaningful minutes in those playoffs!
He plays worse than strong 55th picks (those types play so good they almost feel like first-rounders). There’s undrafted players right now who play better.
He had 4 personal fouls in 15:53 of play tonight, the most on the team next to Chris Manon. That is inexcuseable.
That spin was sick though
It gets its own post because you types run to any media coverage of him predictably. You guys drive up the interest and keep him relevant to casuals because you can’t stop obsessing…
No it’s all the bots upvoting everything.
He played great. Every time he was on the floor the Lakers went on runs, his passing is good and defensively he was amazing. Scoring isn’t everything
Bronny was getting blowout run of a preseason game against the Kings and couldn’t muster more than 3 points. It’s not just the lack of scoring it’s the missed shots. That’s just not viable in real games. Then compare that to the other bench players outperforming him like Carr, Manon, Clifford and Acuff.
Come on once the season starts with Luka, Reaves, Grimes, Sexton, Thybuille, Carr, Laravia, Thiero and Hardy, Bronny clearly doesn’t figure into the Lakers’ plans.
They way people glaze him and make excuses for him is insane.
He’ll never average 5 PPG
He actually really sucks to
his shooting
The guy’s career ts% is 48% lol what shooting
poa defense
That was ass by every metric there is
motor and hustle
Doesn’t every player fighting for a roster spot have that?
playmaking
lmfao
upside
What upside? He’s a 6’1 guard that can’t shoot and was a bad defender by every metric there is. Where’s the upside?
More upside in his field than you have in yours, bucko
good one, you got me, bucko
keep worshipping the rich man, doesn’t change the truth or the argument.
I don’t worship the rich for being rich, I like and support Bronny because he seems to have a good head on his shoulders and he shows up and puts in the work to try and improve. Try it some time
Imagine being an overall solid 55th pick yet being the center of so much scrutiny because of your dad. Dude’s mental must be hella strong.
Could have the ego of the ball brothers, but respect to him for what you’re saying for sure.
Dad is a billionaire, he does it because he loves basketball.
I think overcoming the heart issues is even bigger mentally. I got cancer and the hardest part after surviving is the mental side. You’re always stressing it could be coming back. I can’t imagine being a young guy with a heart issue. I’d be worried I could drop at any moment with the amount of stress you’re putting on your body
Any beneficiary of nepotism is gonna be scrutinized in any walk of life
these haters spending so much energy on a bust number 1 55 pick
Bronny > Acuff
Bronny > Brunson
Acuff’s defense being so turbo ass he’s got Bronny playing with upmost confidence, glad to see the exaggerations weren’t in jest.
There just a video of him training this shot step back and everything. That’s why you practice right there was instantly able to apply it in game.
Bronny “Bronny James” James
I like LeBron James Jr. hope he continues to develop and get better
Thanks magic
This should count towards LeBron’s point total
This will feed Bronny believers for months
It’s given fuel to my copium for 2-3 months
Maybe bronny haters can shut up for a week or two
I like how you admit that good Bronny moments only show up every few months
I never admitted that lol. That’s not true at all but y’all are gonna believe whatever you want
How’s Benny Simmons doing
I think Lebron’s Jr will take a leap this season
How is Bronny the top three post today lol? Third year player goes 1-5. Not Cam Carr, not Boozer or Acuffs debut ffs
Because
Because he’s the son of the best player of all time.
Because he’s the son of the best player of all time
LeSperm
The Internet is garbage
This is why I never use reddit.
Okay I take back what I said in the other thread, I was wrong. If this is what Bronny is on this season I’m all for it.
OHHHHHHHHH WHAT A SHOTTTTTTR
Yeah bronny winning mvp😭
Just Bronny James schooling some rookie
As someone who was adamant Bronny didn’t belong in the NBA and was only there because of Lebron, I think he might actually get a legit roster spot this season
Thats not what a pull up jumper is lol
You reach, i teach vibes
First Ballot Hall of Fame
Let’s Go Bronny Breakout Season unfolding for all the people not favoring the young man
unc teaching the new guy a lesson
Hall of Fame easy.
Bronny hits a wide open 3 in preseason and gets 5k upvotes😂
insane, he really worked on his game in the offseason
My guy bulked up out there ☝️looking like Chauncey out there lol
LeBron 2: Electric Boogaloo
Gambles? 🤨👀
Look at bronny man
Lakers have the better Lebron
Three points out of nowhere 💀
Bronny James ain’t no spotup shooter
bronny is gonna go crazy and average 3/1/1 this year
He was easily the worst guard out there for us (Grimes, Thybulle, Manon, Carr, and Hardy outplayed him) and the game turned into a circus when he was at point, but dammit hand this man a max!!
dk was worse, bronny beat hardy on every metric other than points
Why is this a highlight, and why does it have 3400 upvotes?
Without his dad this guys gonna be first team all nba… book it
R/nba worse than espn. Always showing any Bronny highlight.
With only a 20 point lead!
