Just when you think you’ve seen every pass Joker has in his bag..
Kind of pass I believe I have in my bag at the rec, only to hit the Zumba oldheads on the other court.
That’s side of the backboard for me all day
Shits clanking off the rim and starting a fast break the other way for me
Wayoff P
Zumba is a crazy callback, or is it making a comeback in the US rn?
Nah, the rest of the gym is filled with pickleball these days.
My mother in law does Zumba at the Y twice a week lmfao
And they had it at the JCC too
he got traded to Indiana last season
I probably hit myself in the ribs and bounce it out of bounds.
Just tried this in my backyard and I don’t even understand how he gets that much power with that pass much less that accuracy
The force that whipped through my shoulder felt like I just threw a baseball as hard as I can
His wrists are like mortars. He can just effortlessly shoot from mid court with just his wrist.
Like mortars lololololol that’s funny as hell
When your jokics size a basketball is comparatively pretty small and light. Also he played a bunch of water polo as a kid and that’s a lot of one armed flicks.
Yeah, this a common water polo motion. Very similar to a backhand shot.
He never played water polo at any competitive level.
Yeah but its very popular in Serbia, so he still played casually. Im not buying a new York Times sub to find the quote, but every quote I find about his water polo background is from that one article that says he wasn’t in a club but played with friends for fun.
Had no idea about the water polo; this gives great insight into his abilities on the court.
He big. The accuracy to hit Johnson right in his pocket is amazing though, just absurd coordination
He’s long, so he gets more power out of it
These people are giants who work out every day lol
It’s crazy that one of the greatest offensive centers of all time and the best passing big man ever might still be evolving.
Last year was also his best season until he got injured. He could go crazy this year..
Right in the shooting pocket from across the court too. Man is playing on a completely different difficulty setting.
Not often that you’ll be seeing a preseason play on highlight reels for a decade 😮💨
Hate to sound hyperbolic, but I think he’s clearly the best passer of the 21st century
I mean that isn’t hyperbolic. There is a good chance that he is literally the most talented passer to ever play basketball thus far lol. Gotta remember he’s doing that when the game is at its current peak. There are a handful of other guys that were great but they might not look so good if they tried to play at the current NBAs level its impossible to say really but he’s definitely at least in the running
I think a more accurate way to put it is that Nash/Magic may have been more skilled passers but Jokic is definitely the most effective passer ever. Being 7ft with a massive wingspan adds a lot of passing utility and he’s using every bit of it
The thing about guys like Nash and Magic is that they had the benefit of a highly-effective dribble with which to force the defense around with. They could both open up extra angles using their handle and burst and force passes open that wouldn’t be accessible otherwise. Jokic doesn’t have that advantage, he’s not a fast guy and his handle is functional but nothing more. He’s basically just using raw passing skills and his length to hit assists, and yet he’s still every bit the passer both of those guys were. It’s insane to watch, really. He’s just a genius.
People have to factor the fact that his best teammate was Jamal Murray. No offense to him but both Steve and Magic have played with more stellar players which makes passing much easier.
Add to the fact that defenses have way more lengthier wings and the defense is way more advanced to defend against constant motion.
[deleted]
Stockton, Nash, Magic, LeBron, Kidd and a few more are absolutely up there.. but to say that Jokic is the best is absolutely not an insane take at all.
You’ve gotta be kidding if you don’t think ol Bobby “redhands” Johnson isn’t the best passer of all time. He led the league in assists in 1946
Doncic gets absolutely no respect i see
When he masters caloric intake he can enter the discussion 😂
I agree and would go a step further and say he firmly in conversation for the passing GOAT. I didn’t get to see Magic live but it’s hard for me to think of someone who has better highs, more highs and less lows.
I watched Magic live. He was special in his day but Jokic is a better passer hands down imo.
Then you didn’t watch Magic. I saw him and live too. Jokic is an elite passer, top three or four ever, but he’s no Magic. Magic could do anything Joker can do and he could do it on the Run.
Magic is the only guy I’d put above him without seriously questioning it
Im gonna be honest this feels like Steve Nash erasure. Every single team that Nash played on between 2002-2008 is a top 50 offensive team all time by relative offensive rating, largely because of his passing and creation. Magic is the only other one who is even comparable in that regard in terms of seasons spent leading an all-time great offence as a pass-first player.
My bonafides FWIW are having watched his whole Laker career…Wish peeps could take this w/out a slight to anyone (particularly Jokic)…Magic was so fuckin insane, and even with all the YouTube highlights, it’s hard to grasp w/out having watched live IMO, and I agree he’s as good as I’ve ever seen…w/out question
ya’ll still underrating Bird’s passing….if Magic never existed Bird’s legacy would be twice what it is today because Magic’s passing was so absurdly good it overshadowed Bird’s insanely good passing. Not sure he was capable of a pass like Jokic does in this video purely due to the strength required but some of his best passes are on a similar level to this one in terms of pure skill. Not sure I can name five better passes than the one Jokic throws in this video though…
I must be horned up because I read better thighs. Ready to see these guys play in person.
I’d love to see these mythical Steve Nash lows.
He’s the best passer in the history of the sport. We don’t have to keep couching it. It’s either him or Magic and I think Jokic has the edge.
Almost impossible to knock Magic out of the #1 spot for me
The guy was so good at passing that people literally call him “Magic” as a first name
He got the nickname Magic at 15 years old, not really a result of his professional career as a goat passer
You’re getting downvoted by the young’uns who always downvote old heads when we tell them what’s up. They can’t accept they missed out. FOMO has been weaponized against them so hard to get them to buy shit that they can’t accept they missed something.
Magic is the best passer in NBA history. Joker is top three or four. No doubt.
But Magic could do anything Joker could do and he could do it on the run.
Easily the best passing big man of all time, no question about it.
And if he keeps up this fuckery, we can take big man out of the equation.
Not hyperbole at all. He may be the best passer of all time
Lebron, cp3, Kidd, Luka, etc
Jokic is up there too, but we’ve seen a lot of great passers this century
Nash is better than all of them , still put Jokic ahead
Forgot Nash, brain fart, but I still think it’s wild to put jokic definitely above all of em.
For example, making hard passes is harder when ur a foot shorter like cp3 vs jokic.
7ft cp3 would be insane.
Man I remember when people used to just put him in the “Best Big Man Passer” conversation.
He’s come a long way for sure, dude is incredible
I prefer passers who mostly pass out of live dribbles but Jokic is most definitely one of the best still
all time*
wtf???
After nearly a decade I’m still not used to the fact that the best passer in the NBA looks like my old building super in Chicago.
Doughy Eastern European Man Tired Of Everyone Assuming He’s NBA Superstar
This is amazing. 😆😆😆
they got the wrong Bogdanović, though. Bogdan is skinny as hell, Bojan is the doughy one. only 9⁄10
iz Čikaga moji, znaš ti dobro koji
Nah this is actually crazy because the only time he saw Cam was when he first caught the ball. His eyes never looks directly in the corner until he passed and he threw it right to Cams chest lmao
Pass is still amazing, but I’m pretty sure he can track him in his peripheral during his dribble.
Jokic knows where Cam Johnson is because he knows where he isn’t
also someone is always in the corner.
It’s also the NBA someone is always in the corner
The not looking part is not THAT impressive, you just pass it to the other corner, it’s reading the defense and predicting your teammates position that’s impressive, and of course being able to execute that pass
I’d say it’s PRETTY FUCKING IMPRESSIVE.
Yes..Literally anyone can throw a ball to where they aren’t looking…it’s the whole part where that’s still an open passing lane and there’s someone on their team there to catch it that makes good.
Great point.
I just missed the trash can attempting this with my left over sausage. Great, now there will be ants everywhere. F u guys for saying this wasn’t difficult to pass.
That’s trust that your teammate is going to be in the right spot.
This is phenomenal, but he knew he was gonna be in the corner. He knows the play lol
Crazy pass for sure - Cam has to be there though. Like, if he wasn’t and Jokic makes the same pass, it’d be Cam’s fault for the turnover
He saw him when Jokic was catching the ball and no one was guarding Cam.
I hope yk we all have peripheral vision and can move our eyes without directly looking at something right ?
He definitely saw him in his peripheral when he made his final dribble and had his back parallel to the baseline
Thanks you reiterated the same thing the other 50 comments have stated already, y’all are so annoying lol
There’s like 8 other replies to you and none of them mentioned the exact moment like I did. Go fuck yourself lol
He obviously sees him the entire time
Regardless of seeing/not seeing, there’s going to be a man standing in the weakside corner 95% of the time.
[removed]
it’s so funny to me that the only reason this pass is effective is that the defenders wouldn’t even consider it an option so they have a moment of confusion lol.
“They’ll never see this shit coming”
The thing that is bonkers is that his Assist to Turnover ratio is still decent. I would also say his assist are more valuable than a lot of drive and dish players because he often sets up an easy shot for his teammates. Drive and dish players often setup their teammates with a shot they need to take to beat the shot clock. They then rack up assist because the guy they passed it to has to shoot it, even if it is a bad shot.
Truly fucking absurd
Sometimes I think people go a bit overboard praising some of Jokić’s cross court passes… but this one is fucking insane. I have never seen any pass remotely like this one. He puts it on a platter, behind the back all the way across the baseline, with like 3 defenders between them?
Truly batshit insane
Ummmmmm
I physically couldn’t do this even if you gave me six months to train.
WTF???
Wtf?
wtf?
Same bro that’s all I could think 😭😂
Insane play.
I literally just said “whaaat the fuuuuck” out loud watching this clip. Only Jokic with this wild shit.
I love how the entire audience instantly shouts a synchronized “whoa”, really drives home how insane this is
He’s an alien! Has anyone seen his navel? I don’t think so!
yeah i did a flashy pass like this in 2k like once in like 10 years; otherwise, its a 99% turnover
Ikr, since when does Cam make corner 3s?!
wtf was my same exact reaction lol
Seriously wtf??? This is like some anime shit now lol
The audio is great. Everybody’s like oooooooooohhhhh
Casually one of the greatest assists I have ever seen. Certainly for a 3
I hope this wins the Top 1 Pass of the Year lol
Lol i think 99.9% of people who even attempt that are getting smacked in the back of the head at the next dead ball
This is absolutely absurd. You may be able to find passes as good as this but you’ll never find any better than it
All time jokic pass
His career highlight assist tape gonna be generational when he retires
Legit 24h of highlights.
Go to sleep with it on, get a full 8 hours, wake up and it’s still going
One of my all-time favorite videos is a 15 minute breakdown of his elite court-vision and crazy passes nobody else would see/try, and the reveal is that it’s all from a random 3 game stretch and not a multi-year compilation.
He gon make me beg him for the link. Goddamnit im a Jokic tape addict.
I would put any 1 season of jokic passing highlights against anybody’s best career passing highlights
And anyone thinking this is an over exaggeration just has not watched Jokic for a season
I put him up there with Bird for creativity and highlights
White chocolate is close, but some passes that Jokic has made seems impossible. Imagine if he had Jason Williams’ flair. There would be a passing highlight tape every game
It will be a full length feature film, and should be nominated for Oscars
Every person’s top 10 compilation is going to be both totally different and equally viable.
His best passes in a span of a week are better than most guys all time passing highlights
Bruh its already there…but this is ridiculous
It’s like watching Zidane at work.
Maximum composure.
Someone should shit talk his horse in an important game to see if we can get the full Zidane experience
that’s how you end up like Marqueef Morris
Are you saying this isnt what really happened last year with Jaden McDaniels?
Yeah his bounce alley oop to Steiner was insane
Unless, a man named Materazzi is around…
Probably will be lost to time
Like tears in rain
Time to dime.
Raining all time passes
Jesus.. that pass was perfectly placed
*All time pass
99% of them are
He is the best passer of all time
For anyone else it would be, but is it in top 20 for Jokic?
I mean, have you even seen a better pass than this? Like this should not be possible in an NBA game.
This pass rates extremely highly for IQ/Court Vision knowing the pass was there and for execution with it being behind the back for a long distance with extreme accuracy. It did not require much manipulation of the defenders or needed to be perfectly timed like a pass to a cutter or throwing a long pass immediately after a rebound or inbound. Everyone’s aesthetics are different of course but I consider the following listed passes to be at least as good. From TOP 100 NIKOLA JOKIC ASSISTS EVER ! 🔥 CAREER HIGHLIGHTS 😱 check out everything but especially 0:39, 1:36, 4:49, 5:15, 6:16, 14:45, 15:02, 17:45, 18:02, 18:10, 18:35, 19:11, 19:52, 20:24, 20:48, 21:25, 23:39, 24:12, 25:20, 26:30, 26:40, 27:20, 27:30.
I am sure I have seen all Jokic passes worth seeing of his Megabasket, Serbian NT and Denver career, and this is the best.
It is more precise than that epic Gallinari’s behind the back. It goes through 3 players. It perfectly hits Cam, surgeon precision! And there is so much room for error, it is a very long distance, it can only be done parallel to the baseline. If you give a professional player a ball to try it without defense, many would throw it to the crowd and I wouldn’t blame them.
Top 10 most impressive past of all time tbh
At least this week.
All time pass for anyone
He hit him right in the shooting pocket too
Man the pressure to make that bucket and not waste it
Funnily enough Cam bricked a wide open 3 off another utterly insane Jokic dime early last season (i think it was preseason too). Happy he made up for it here
The fact he was ready for that pass is an excellent sign that he’s going to take a step up this year
I think playing with jokic for an entire year now is going to really help Johnson. You could tell early last year that he was not always anticipating a pass from jokic
I definitely remember that happening, but not the exact circumstances
Bruce Brown also miss preseason wonder pass last year 😀
There was another stellar pass and brick last night too
Legit one of the smartest players to have ever played. Basketball IQ off the charts.
Can you imagine having to learn to even be looking for the ball in this situation? With normal players there’s literally no reason for Cam to even expect a pass to come to him
Makes everyone better
was that the best pass of the year already
This is one of the best passes I’ve ever seen… no look behind the back across the court next to baseline…
And perfectly placed in the shooter’s chest
Ya my comment was under selling it. One of the best I’ve seen too
Idgaf that it’s preseason, this legit is one of the best passes in the history of basketball.
Dude I’m over here wondering if that’s the greatest pass of all time. holy shit
Why is he bringing this out for preseason save something for the regular season Jokic
maybe he is o_o
He missed basketball, he just out here trying shit
The first side out under the Denver basket he literally track sprinted the whole court after passing it in. Then pulls this bullshit. Dude’s heart is full of horses and he’s ready to get back to work.
So you’re saying there’s a horse inside Jokić
That’s just his preseason shit. Hes gonna unleash a 360 no scope full court behind the back pass in the regular season.
I’m pretty sure that’s travelling, but otherwise..
he’s gonna break both his knees to do a full 720 twist without traveling on the very last game he needs to play to perfectly set his team up for championship
Rule of cool, gotta allow it!
Nah he’ll miss his intended target…
and make the three instead.
And with any luck, it’ll be AD on him yet again with great defense
Someone get the Thirty Seconds to Mars queued up for the montage
Ask the rest of his team not to brick those passes
This is every game
He hasn’t even tried to score. This is him taking it easy.
It’s probably just like barely 0.001% of his power lol.
its possible he made that shit up on the spot.
Pass of the entire season in the 1st quarter of the 1st game of the season
*1st game of the *pre*season
**1st game of the Nuggets’ preseason
Just a nugget of time
Even though he’s demolished us several times, I still can’t but admire his game. One of my favorite all time players as long as he ain’t destroying us. The rare player whose passing gets me more excited than their offense or blocks.
Yeah I think I would love him if he didn’t play for the Nuggets too. Just is exactly how I want to watch the game be played. Makes it so fun to watch.
he’s the reason I got back into the NBA after two decades of ambivalence
Love that. Yeah he was the antidote to the me-first Carmelo Years for me and made basketball my number 1 love easily where it used to be football.
This might honestly be the pass of the decade, or of this century so far tbh
Pass of the season…IN THE FUCKIN PRE-SEASON?!?!
In the 1st quarter too
Of the first game as well.
Jokic can’t play basketball for 10 minutes without trying this shit lmao
That was fucking filthy 😂
I’m pretty sure Cam just redeemed himself for not hitting the 3 off an insane Jokic pass from last preseason lmao
I think that’s one of the nicest passes I’ve seen in the modern era of basketball
you saw better before the modern era?
Despite his accolades, I still think this guy is being taken for granted.
People over focus on his defense while ignoring that a lot of his bad defense comes from a lot of their guys aren’t good defenders, and its legitimately better for him to stand there and give up the open layup than contest and foul. He has his weaknesses, hence why he can’t contest without fouling like wemby/AD and the like, but thats the reality of a slow big man in the modern nba.
Yeah if their perimeter defense was semi decent he would look way better on D.
During their championship run and the year after he looked pretty okay defensively and their team defense was hovering around top 10. KCP plus a healthy Gordon were doing a ton to keep jokic from being under the cup in a layup line lol
They also ignore the fact he runs the offense and plays 38+ a night - thats going to reduce the defensive effort significantly. The coach/team probably doesnt want him to burn out in the first half and then finish each night with non joker minutes
This excuse never works for Luka so I don’t think it should for Jokic.
Earlier in his career, the way you beat the Nuggets was to get Jokic in foul trouble. When he got past that is when they became perennial contenders
1000%
In a just world he’d be going for a fourth straight MVP this season.
Then we have a dumbass from the 80s who says they can easily guard this freak
Yeah dude he’s easily guarded, that’s why he has 77 games with at least 20-10-10 on 70%TS
BTW the next guy on that list is Magic with 19 games
Magic also only had a 3 point shot for like 1-2 season of his career as well. The fact that Jokic has been a serviceable 3 point shooter for basically a decade now is absurd.
Serviceable isnt even cutting it. I am lazy to pull it up but im pretty sure than in the last 2-3 years, he had seasons where he has higher 3Pt perc than Curry on a good volume too lmao
That’s crazy holy shit I did not know that. I bet even if you make a more lenient TS% like 60, he’s still first on that list
Yeah that’s all lies. Jokic is like if Sabonis came to the NBA before he was in his 30s.
and like if Sabonis was as good as Jokic
Arvydas would have been quite close to 80s/90s jokic
No player alive or dead ever triumphs in the realm of hypotheticals and what-ifs
well he kind of was, he came to NBA way past his prime and after his body completely broke down and was still a starter just based on his pure skillset
Don’t try to explain to these Redditors man. They’ll never concede or even try to understand. Sabonis would have cooked , but let’s just keep that one in the chamber
I mean, I think, that Jokic is the european goat, but I also think, that Sabonis is the biggest what if story, for all the reasons you have heard already. Really no reason to put him down imo.
Oh no I’m not putting him down. I’m only mentioning him because they were both dominant in their own unique way for their time.
Ignore that dude, his reading comprehension is in the toilet
MB, these comments often come off as a slight to him.
Sabonis’ passing ability might be the single most overrated thing in basketball history. He was good, but nowhere near the level of praise he gets.
Who from the 80’s said that?
Olden Polynice.
LOL
Tbf Minnesota proved that two big lineups def makes joker struggle and I can see hakedm/Sampson and/or parish/machale combo making things hard on him. And I say that as a joker fan
disgusting
He has 5 assists in the first quarter and 0 FGA.
he’s in his happy place.
Bruh. That’s so nutty. Like that’s hard to do by yourself with that level of accuracy.
This is the nastiest pass I’ve ever seen.
That’s…. holy shit that’s just amazing.
Lmao what the honest fuck is that
DeMar gonna get so many of these, he’s gonna get addicted
I watched the replay a few times. It was a brilliant cut baseline, then through the paint to occupy nurk and DeRozan defender that made the pass possible. Elite misdirection by DeRozan’s cut.
Any other center , that’s a DeMar midrange 10⁄10 and DeMar makes those 10⁄10
Jokic is not any other center
He literally used nurkic as a screen. On every other team demar was on he’d get that pass for a shot, but he’ll be the decoy a lot cuz jokic is smart and 3>2
DeMarkic gonna be a thing
Demar is a very good playmaker himself! Kinda excited about him being on the Nuggets next year.
Wait what this might be the best pass I’ve ever seen?
I am 100% sure we have never seen one like that
Sometimes you’re just so good at something and you can’t explain why. That is jokic
This some bullshit.
Dawg what the fuck
How did that look that easy?!
To him it is like you and I tying our shoes…That’s how amazing he is truly.
The audacity of that man
The Lion, The Witch and the audacity of passing Jokic
Okay this is stupid lmao
Damn man..good on Cam to make it an assist
The pressure Cam must have felt to make that shot…I can’t imagine.
We’ve all seen some ridiculous dimes from Jokic, but this one is truly amazing.
Alright so that’s like one the craziest passes I’ve ever seen. I’ll be so angry if I never see it again because it happened in preseason
Legit a pass attempt that would get you benched if you tried while not being Jokic.
Simply astounding.
Jokic made Svi do a full 360 on the other side of the court
Bro didn’t even consider for a second that that pass could physically happen.
Even after rewatching it a few times it still seems implausible. He basically threw a behind the back cutter. He had to intentionally put spin on the ball to get it to curve the way it did.
Jokic is so deep into his career, playing all of the NBA part of it for the team I root for, and he STILL manages to surprise me with his passing. What in the flying fuck.
And some people still have the audacity to call him a statpadder
Show me a better pass all time than this wtf
It’s probably gonna be another one of his lmao
his spinning pass to watson last year is defintely up there
I think the Peja pass is still better. This Jokic pass is close tho.
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=mxMLH0K-CM4&ra=m
That is one of the best I’ve ever seen. Extraordinary.
Kings back in the day had some serious passers on the team
That was probably the only way to beat a Shaq Kobe lakers. Passing and forcing rotations tired out the lakers and having shooting from the forward and center positions unlocked ways to mismatch hunt Shaq in pick and roll.
this jokic pass is definitely higher difficulty
I wanted to automatically and vigorously disagree! But now I have to watch each of them at least 10 times to judge. THANKS!!!
I will overthink, overcomplicate and pseudo-intellectualize these 2 gems (because I love to):
Peja’s is poetry: spontaneity, instinct, feeling, pure skill and beauty. (But the accuracy needed is “broad side of the barn”-type)
Jokic’s is the moon-landing/ splitting the atom-type peak of human basketball achievement (it is simply impossible).
This reminds me of the UAB twins vs Kentucky full court pass. 15v2 upset.
Wish I could find a resolution worthy of this pass without hunting for a timestamp.
You’ll have to compare it to all his other passes. My favorite is through the legs and behind him to Bruce Brown
That’s an all time highlight
I wish it wasn’t in a preseason game lol
remember when there were replays in the comments
Oh fuck off. How
Literally how
The strength to do this is impressive
I wanna see Jokic play quarterback in the nfl😂
I like to picture jokic as the male lead in swan lake
What the fuck.
We’re so back😭😭😭
Absurd
if cam missed that he would’ve been traded
You’re not a Nugget till you brick an all time pass from Jokic.
What the fuck?
What the actual fuck
Nah man no way
HOLY SHIT
