Everyone is picking their own team because they don’t care about other team’s benches lol.

I will go with… jazz. I like a lot of their guys off bench. Especially sensabaugh and collier and ace. Wizards also.

As a heat fan, I have a lot of interest to see how the bucks lineups shape up. I like all the Heat guys they got a lot, plus I like their rookies and other youngins.

Indy will be interesting.

The Huff, Toppin, Oubre trio can all shoot 3’s - not great % but still, they’ll be spreading the floor. I’m sure the hope is for McConnell to do his thing with that spacing but if he shows his age, they have Jackson too.

Either way they should be able to run and spread teams out.

Ours. So interesting, you don’t even know who they are 🤫

If you’re interested in seeing what Ben Simmons is doing, then the Kings’ bench unit is where you’ll have to look.

Blazers potentially have three of Dame/Ja/Jrue/Scoot and shaedon sharpe (injured) coming off the bench with Timelord.

I know it’s my team but that’s pretty damn interesting.

I think the Wolves bench has a chance to be interesting because they will change the pace. Bones, Ayo, Shannon, and Beringer all want to run. Shannon and Ayo in particular are really fast dudes.

Memphis Grizzlies

OKC

Threads like this are so silly because it’s just a bunch of people saying their own team

Spurs bench because it has harper and champagnie(now that Tobias is probably starting, but if its flipped, its still a good player coming off the bench) with kornet who is better than other bench bigs. Not to mention possible carter bryant improvement, and rookies like Tarris Reed jr and maliq brown who should help sure up the defense and rebounding

The guard situation in SA will be interesting. Who starts and who runs the bench unit.

Philly will be interesting in general, but how they manage egos and playing time will be fascinating. Especially with Lebron and Embiid and their rest schedule.

There’s also a crop of young teams looking to establish identities. Charlotte, Dallas, Utah, Atlanta.

Finally, I’m interested in the teams that have a decision in front of them and seem to be at a crossroads. Orlando, Houston, Cleveland.

Collier, Brice, Okogie, Ace, Jaxson

Collier brings playmaking. Brice is a good scorer. Okogie is a 3 and D. Ace showed promise his rookie year and grew an inch, while bulking up a lot. Jaxson Hayes is a putback machine.

Svi (who averaged 10 ppg with 40% from 3), Flip (who won’t play hurt unlike last season), and Josh Green can sneak their way into the bench 5 too. The Jazz have 8 solid bench contributors. Mo Bamba even is the 14th man, so imo the Jazz might not have the best overall talented bench in the league, but they have the most stacked bench if Svi, or Josh Green is the 13th man

Obviously it’s the one I’m most familiar with, but the Wolves have the biggest boom or bust potential with weird swings and guys with strange talents.

Sixth Man - Ayo Dosunmu, basically the fifth best player, he will most likely finish games over Kuminga and will get lots of PT with Lamelo’s minutes slightly limited. Will be the main back up at the 2 and 3 and get some minutes at point

Seventh Man - TJ Shannon, a boom or bust guy who’ll likely get a lot of minutes at back up point guard. The wolves are looking to see him do what he did last year in the playoffs while he was on the ball where he relentlessly drove to the rim. Can he avoid getting lost in the flow like he did last regular season and can he stay healthy. Will back up the point and the power forward position.

Backup Big - Joan Beringer, the wolves are showing a lot of faith in the ¹⁹⁄₂₀ year old French big. He’s incredibly raw but extremely athletic, he tries really hard, and he catches everything. Can he learn how to play winning basketball enough to matter.

Defense off the bench - Jaylen Clark, dynamic defender and elite off ball steals guy. Can he be consistent guarding on ball and make enough corner threes to help out?

Offense off the bench - Bones Hyland, can he make threes consistently and play defense well enough to not be a liability because his dynamic scoring could be helpful

Fill-in big - Trey Lyles, he’s bigger and he can stretch the floor. Will probably be needed bs bigger teams like Denver and Houston. Can he shoot well enough to overcome his defensive shortcomings.

Developmental - Cody Williams, a big wing who can guard but his offensive game is really raw. Can he show progress in year three on a new team enough to push his way into the rotation?

Wildcard - Donte Divencenzo thinks he’s going to be back this year. An elite three point shooter to stay one pass away form Ant and Melo would really help but can he come back in time and be effective?

Everyone is sleeping on the Celtics bench. They had the 2nd best bench net rating last season, but for some reason everyone thinks they won games on the back of Jaylen Brown carrying them. Sure he put up great numbers and carried the offensive scoring load, but now we have Tatum back for a full year, are adding Paul George, and I assume Derrick White will not have the worst FG% of his career again. The starting group can replace Brown’s output in the aggregate.

The bench was 1st in limiting turnovers, 4th in offensive rebounds and just added Mitchell Robinson, and 2nd in TS% just behind the Hawks. Hugo Gonzalez had a great +/- because every time he came in the game he was making defensive plays that changed momentum. At one point in the year he led the league in on-off plus-minus (over Jokic, Wemby, Giannis), it was kinda crazy to see a rookie change the entire feel of a game like that. Walsh, Scheierman and Garza shot 38.4%, 39.9% and 43.3% from 3.

Walsh, Scheierman, Gonzalez, Amari Williams and Cenac are all between rookie and 4th season (Walsh basically didn’t play his first 2 and has played less total career minutes than 9 players from the 2025 draft) and should show some level of progression, too.

Our bench is going to make other bench units look silly, but I’ve seen people calling for the Celtics as a play-in team because of a misunderstanding how they got to 56 wins last season.

Ours doesn’t suck. Alvarado, McBride, Shamet, Clarkson, Drummond. And of course, Tyler Kolek, the Michael Jordan of Rhode Island.

Biased for the Pacers, but any second unit with TJ McConnell leading it is going to be fun. TJ, Oubre, Toppin, and Huff bring a lot of energy and flash. Huff in year 2 with IND and Toppin healthy should make everything click.

The Jazz

Some of the ones that seem underrated:

Lakers: Sexton should be in 6moty contention, Thybulle/Laravia/Vanderbilt/Carr/Thiero all have good size and D on the wings, and presumably the shots will fall for one or two of them, Hardy/Knecht/Mamu should be able to provide shooting at every position when needed.

Hawks: Fleming seems like he should be a starting quality guard pretty quickly, Dort and DFS have already shown to be good starters when their shots are falling, and Landale is pretty much the standard above average backup C at this point. Bonus points for Zuby being a fun name to say.

NOP: Queen, Fears, Mathurin, and Poole are projected to come off the bench. The starters aren’t going to stay healthy enough for that to happen, but if they do, that’s a good bench.

Pistons. Isiah Joe, Ron Holland, BBPaul, Daniss Jenkins, Taurean Prince, Javonte Green, Kevin Huerter. Deep bench with lot’s of versatility.

Knicks!

Alvarado, Shamet, Deuce, Drummond, Clarkson, Kolek, MO D, our rookie Tyler Nickel, and more.

Im definitely biased as a knicks fan but I love the bench

Pacers

i know this is just my bias as a hornets fan, but i’m excited for the hornets’ bench. second unit is mostly proven veterans: dennis schroder, grayson allen, royce o’neale, grant williams, ryan kalkbrenner. third unit has some intriguing young guys with upside: christian anderson, sion james, liam mcneeley, tidjane salaun, hannes steinbach

The Kings bench could be fun depending on who they start. Simmons, Monk, Sharp, Plowden, Clifford, Mogbo, Achiuwa, Cardwell, and Reynaud all bring some interesting stuff to the table - think you actually have the makings of a competent defense with that group.

i may seem biased, but cleveland. i’m so curious to see how it does. Merrill had an under the raider season off the bench last year, top 3 in 3% while averaging 13, 3 and 3, so if he keeps that up he’s easily a 6th man contender. tyson had a huge jump last season and was % the best 3 point shooter in the league, and could be given the keys to be the engine of the bench this season. i’m also excited to see if any of CPJ, Proctor or even Thomas solidify themselves as THE backup PG. Mario Hezonja finding his way back in the league at an extra 40 lbs or whatever is also interesting to me. He could provide defensive/rebounding/enforcer role the Cavs have desperately needed since LeBron left, so hopefully he’s ready

Lakers. White naz Reid, sexton, Ausar Thompson 2.0 and cam Carr

Philly has a good chance cause that is people biggest problem with them so I want to see how they do

Spurs.

Harper/Harris/Kornet are all starting level players on other teams imo, CB might develop into one soon too

I like how everyone is just picking their own team’s bench lmao

Anyways, the Cavs’ bench. We got some interesting guards who can shoot 40%+ from 3 in Merrill and Tyson and energetic, competitive young players in Meleek and Tomlin. Whoever will be the bench PG is still up in the air though. Craig Porter Jr. is the better athlete, but Proctor has an actual 3 point shot to provide better spacing.

Spurs

Sixers bench could be a starting 5 for some teams

the best is OKC, most potential is the Wizards (bias)
