He’ll start a 5th family with Steph on the Hornets

That still puts it in some perspective. Right now it would be like MJ going through 2007. That was the year I graduated high school and I couldn’t imagine Jordan still playing at a high level then.

geriatric MJ could’ve been d rose’s pippen

LeBron has played 23 seasons already of 50 plus games. Jordan only played 13 seasons with more than 20 games played.

So Jordan needs 10 more full seasons just to get to CURRENT LeBron (so thru the 2012-2013 season).

Kobe would’ve played in the 2024 season…which would’ve been even more impressive

That’s crazy. Mj stopped playing when i was in elementary school, in that scenario he’s still playing till the end of my sophomore year of college

MJ turned 40 in February 2003, so in 2011 he would have been 48.

you mean 2009? he retired at 40 in 2003

I don’t think it’s a question of “can do it”, but “will”. Barring catastrophic injuries - which I freely admit are more likely over time - I’m sure a 46-year-old LeBron would be capable of at least a handful of minutes a night. I think - and hope - that he goes the Jerry Rice route, though: Jerry Rice retired just before he turned 43 because he’d have made the Broncos roster as a backup rather than as a starter. He was nobody’s backup, so that was the point he decided to hang them up. To me, LeBron is the same.

He could’ve done it. He would’ve hit fadeaway jumpers over that Heat Team

Where have I heard that before?

Lebron at 45 would still be a solid 25 mpg and could start on 25 teams in the nba no issue

He did say he’s not playing til the wheels fall off. And I believe he’s mostly doing it because Savannah wanted him to spend more time with the family.

I think him going to Philly bought him even less time on the wife o clock.

In the 40’s NBA that probably meant one of his players hurt himself at his day job and couldn’t play.

In the 1940’s the NBA was semi-professional, and basketball players had jobs outside of playing basketball. Coaches sub-ed themselves in all the time in that era.

Depends, if he wins with the 76ers this or next season then I can see him trying to get to 6, if he wins back to back he definitely tries to break Jordan’s 6.

so would you say that… this fuckery won’t go on much longer?

Exactly. He will retire in 2028 and keep himself in shape, then sub in in a couple of years just to break this bogus ass record lol.

Honestly if it’s to 21 and we assume the dudes are the little green guys: I’m sending Giannis

We do know how tall the aliens are, they’re 7’4”.

I think we have reached a point to where even 20 minutes of 41 year old LeBron going all out is probably not better than like Jokic, Shai, etc.

In that scenario I’m probably giving it to KD. if the goal is just to score 21, KD could do that easily.

Nah you would take someone younger who still has some speed.

People don’t age overnight; it’s their bodies letting them down. He can have an incredibly efficient 30-point game but he can’t do that 40 times a season. Each year into your 40s is significantly tougher on the bod than the previous. It’s why you see exactly zero superstar athletes in late 40’s. Times are changing, sure, and LeBron is very arguably the greatest athlete the world has seen to date, but he either won’t be able to stay on the court or would have to be averaging 8-12 min a game eventually.

If we’re just talking about breaking Hickey’s record, sure he can do that, but I doubt he will he stick around for it. He’s a businessman, and making the Sixers more than they pay him when he could soon buy one of these teams himself will be more appealing to him than playing at 46.

MJ playing 82 games on one leg at 40 yo in his second season with the Wizards and being in conversations for MVP in the first before his injury after coming from a 3 year break and yet these mf forget about him.

I think he’s the second oldest.

I hate that this is the first thing that i saw on this thread man 😭. Absolutely a bleak outlook on humanity

O/U is 47.5

If he wins another ring, I think he’s gonna retire immediately. Perfect end to his career

Willis 44, Dikembe 42

Yep, he was ABSOLUTELY 45 when he entered the league, then played ten years and retired when he was 55. That’s DEFINITELY the truth. Hell, he may have been older. Maybe he was 65 when he retired? Some say, he retired when he was 75.

Thinking he entered the league at 45 is so ridiculous it has to be so some kind of -ist or -phobic word

many people are saying this

Nope, he was born in 1902 and unejaculated sperm is broken down and reabsorbed by the body after a couple months max.
