I’m not trying to argue your point. But how do you explain the people who had horrific parents but still grew to be compassionate, hard working, and humble individuals.
Is that just human spirit winning out in the end regardless?
Mostly yeah, but those people can also benefit from positive teachers and friends growing up who pull them in the right direction. Still, if you have a shitty parent you’re absolutely fighting an uphill battle.
One of my hottest takes is that you can blame 3⁄5 of aggro, shitty men you run into every day on their dad’s not hugging them enough, I really do think it’s that simple.

People from tough situations/broken homes can become everything you mentioned. It just more difficult and requires self realization and awareness.
Having a stable home and parents greatly help with that.

Not sure what explanation is needed. Good parents make it easier to be a good person. It is possible to still be a good person with bad parents. Lol
I think parents play a major role in a person’s life, but it can directionally play out in vastly different ways.
E.g. the biggest indicator if a parent is physically abusive is if their parent was abusive to them.
However the same kid who was abused can also grow up and realize how horrific it was and how to be the opposite of that.
Human spirit? Not sure what that means, but it’s much more clear cut than that. At some point or another, people are responsible for their own actions. Having good parents or bad ones may explain why some people are the way they are, but it doesn’t excuse or justify their actions one way or another.
LeBron himself came from an unstable household and has never met his own father. He decided from a very early age that wasn’t the life that he wanted. Being the greatest prospect in NBA history since he was 15 definitely helped support that decision, but it was still his decision and his actions. At an age when most young men are just trying to drink and hook up with as many girls as possible, he decided to start a family with his high school sweetheart (despite having millions in the bank and half the nation knowing his name and face).
That’s part of it. I do think he had good adults(mom and coaches etc) in his corner even if not a lot of money and no dad.

I think that’s a very good explanation for a lot of cases. Somebody along the way cared. Even if it wasn’t the parents. Times like is when you wish there was more money invested into education. After school programs. Sometimes that’s the only positive influence kids will get during childhood.
