Shaq Jealous of Kobe’s New Video Game “I don’t play Nintendo games, that stuff for kids” (1998)
Wasn’t Shaq fu on the snes?
Yes it was, and it came out 4 years before this story.
So he was salty that his game sucked, got it
Do you honestly expect Shaq to remember every endorsement he has done? He probably signed that deal between doing a tourism ad for Liechtenstein and promoting a private jet service for toddlers.
Maybe he only had his game for Sega and didn’t know Nintendo did it too haha.
Kobe Courtside was exclusive to 64, I had both Kobe games and a ton of fun.
“Frame rate is everything “ That man is a time traveler
Nah its jusy always been true in 3d gaming. Sometimes your pc was junk and ran everything at 15fps, but you persevered
Still proud of my Core i3 + HD3000 with 4GB of RAM. Played the hell out of some games it had no business running
Lol it really makes you put things into perspective. Nowadays I get annoyed if I’m not getting at least 60fps with the best graphics I can muster, back then I’d be happy to get it in a playable state with potato graphics.
Ocarina of time ran at 20 fps back then lol
Shaq has to be the smallest giant to have ever existed.
He’s also an asshole who thinks what he does is funny. The stuff he did to Lou Aminson while with the Suns is deplorable
Awesome clip. Never knew how much I’d miss catching little segments like this on the TV as a kid.
love seeing this stuff…..didnt grow up in America so some of these clips new to me
This was a Canadian show.
my point still stands
Canada is in america though?
NBA courtside with Kobe on the cover was the first real basketball game for N64. I played it so much.
Mealwhile Charles Barkley is the main character in a fanmade JRPG that’s significant enough to get its own wiki page. Which I feel is underrated as an argument in GOAT debates.
It’s canon
definitely don’t miss the era where everything was dutch angles and unmotivated zooms; i got car sick just watching 30 seconds of that clip.
Victor lucas and Tommy tallirico! Haha those guys were a big part of my childhood. Ive played with victor a few times back in the day on xbox live. He just ignores me these days but his steam id/gamertag/psn id is batwing if anyone wants to add him
Tommy’s mother is very proud.
Can’t wait to get my Intellivision Amico. It just needs a little more money and it’ll be here soon!
It’s almost across the finish line.
His nickname should be Inshaqure.
Envious*
Nintendo games are awesome Shid lol
I never could figure out how to do an alley oop in this game
I absolutely LOVED this game as a kid
Loved this game as a kid. A lot better than many other NBA games of the time.
Shaq is and has always been a narcissistic asshole
Electric Playground is still around.
Victor Lucas took the show solo as a YouTube channel. He still reviews games. Also does movies and tv. Just won a gaming ambassado reward.
Should check it out.
Says the guy who collaborated on the controller you could play with your colon
Was the Nintendo 64 more popular than the PlayStation 1 in the US?
all my friends had n64. didn’t know anyone with a PS1.
No. PlayStation had CD based games which could hold more data and the graphics were better overall. You bought an N64 back then for Mario games. PlayStation for everything else, including it being able to play music CD’s.
Saying N64 is for Mario games is really underselling it
I get it, but it was familiarity that drew us in to the N64. Mario 64 and Mario Kart 64. PlayStation just had more to choose from. I had both for different reasons.
It all just feels so…innocent. And proud.
