LeBron James’ Epic 51 Point Performance | Game 1 Of The ‘17-‘18 Finals
The JR Smith game.
which is kinda unfair. He already hustled for the rebound he shouldn’t be getting in the first place.
If George Hill made the 2nd free throw, we wouldn’t be having this conversation.
Missed free throw happens, forgetting the fucking score doesn’t
George hill looked so fucking shook at the line
It’s not unfair at all.
JR saved Lebron from bricking another clutch shot in Finals
Bait lol
nope. Lebron is 0 for 7 on shots to tie/take lead in last minute of Finals games
This is such a funny cherry pick. Hmmm yes the shot that sealed a title with 30 seconds left isn’t clutch

You euro dweebs are obsessed with americans
This man literally went with “White boys use their brain” as his opening argument, quite bold.
To be fair you have to have a very high IQ to understand JR Smith
Calling LeBron low BBIQ is so funny when he’s consistently ranked with the most intelligent players in the past 10 years
Not saying he’s right but he’s clearly talking about JR Smith
Best solo performance I’ve ever witnessed as it happened
Me too. I’ve watched people score more points, but I’ve never seen someone play as well as Lebron did, considering the stakes and how overmatched his team was. Even in the moment, as mad as I was about JR Smith, it felt like his mistake was the difference between the series being a sweep or going 5 games.
It was an impossible task. We knew it was a sweep. But game 1… LeBron was about to take it. Absurd performance, absolutely unreal.
One of the best games he’s ever played. On the verge of taking a game from the Durant Warriors. It felt like AI against the Lakers in ‘01
This game was basketball’s Sisyphus
One must imagine LeBron James happy
All that effort just to end up with another meme. I feel for Lebron during times like these, man.
Wouldn’t have won the series but the Cavs definitely should have won this game. Jr smith and George hill really ruined a good LeBron game
The funny thing about this is that technically JR grabbed a rebound which prevented GS the opportunity to win the game in regulation, even if after grabbing it we witnessed the dumbest shit to ever happen in a finals. Technically dishing to Hill was the right basketball play, assuming he gets fouled it’s basically a coin toss that he’d hit both free throws, however I still wish LeBron took a shot over Steph to win the game instead of deferring to a role player in the clutch when he was playing so well.
Ultimate “I gave it my all” game
The bball reference for this game is nuts, 41.3 game score for bron
Tied for the fourth highest all-time regular season or post season. Funny enough in the top 10 game scores of all time have only two loses, both of them are by LeBron led teams. here’s the list for reference.

Finals games*
This list is every game, not just finals
THIS is the Mark Jackson “and I’d hit it out of the park, no questions asked” game?? Goddamn this one had everything
right i wasn’t expecting that lolol
This one still hurts. Best individual performance of all time.
Braindead take
51-8-8 against the most cheating ass team in nba history with a bunch of dudes in the fucking NBA finals on the ROAD mind you. it is not a brain dead take to say that’s the best and i don’t even agree lmao
He lost and choked in overtime
You might want to see a neurologist
as a big lebron fan, this is the only highlights of him, i cant watch… ughh….
Bruh, we’re the same. Almost a decade later and I still can’t watch highlights of this game, despite watching it with awe live on TV when it happened. The only play I remember is the epic and-1 near the end of the game, that was peak 2018 Bron. Then it all came crashing down soon after lol
I remember just being mad going into game 1 because Lebron had carried so hard that entire playoff just to go against basically a team that felt like it was cheating with how lopsided they were. Plus the Rockets had every opportunity to seal game 7 and missed 27 straight threes that could have made a finals win more achievable.
yeah i dont mind,, if they still lose with normal game scenario. but man that was so heart breaking.. i cant watch it.
Should’ve ripped the ball from jr’s hands and splashed the three
Prettay prettay prettay good
Best game I’ve witnessed from anyone, personally was 50⁄50 on the goat debate but seeing this in the moment really changed that for me
The GOAT and it’s not even close
KD being slandered for going scoreless in OT after putting 48 in regulation
LeBron being praised for 2 points in OT after putting 49 in regulation
Truly empowering vs put on a shirt
Finals vs second round. Superteam Warriors vs championship but not superteam Bucks. LeBron coming off an 82-game season and a supreme playoffs run out of the East while KD played 35 games that year. And like it or not, LeBron didn’t even have a chance to fuck up the game because JR did it, while KD is entirely at fault for having his own toe on the line.
If KD has a more respectable body of playoff work outside of his GSW titles he wouldn’t be clowned on so much. The reality is that his magnum opus is a loss in the second round.
just say you started watching basketball 2 years ago brother
Thompson missing that shot at 2:19 is 😂
Completely spoiled by his overtime tantrum. Dude got in his feelings over JR and spent most of it pouting and refusing to participate. Didn’t so much as look to take a shot until it was out of reach.
How’d that end??
With his teammates massively letting him down.
1-8 combined in back-to-back finals. Go ahead and blame his teammates
Best game of his career
