You could excuse the playoff run if it was just mental or shot poorly, but anybody who understands basketball knew that this would be the outcome when the Pistons reached the playoffs, then it happened.

3 actually. Fairly pedestrian in the 2025 series vs Knicks but expectations were low and he kept his same season averages. The 2 this year though were bad drop offs. Playoffs are tough for sure but losing half your point production is basically a free fall.

Neither does one season. Was already absurd the number was expecting off one seasons performance even if included performing well in the playoffs.

While I did think it was too much money, I’ve always be pro player in this argument. You need to be realistic about yourself but this whole restricted free agency thing is very much power to the franchise. Betting on yourself is the only power you have as a young player. He got what he wanted here, hopefully he can live up to it and get his next contract.

That said, I don’t think anyone would be crazy shocked if we saw him traded down the line.

It has happened multiple times. Pistons made playoffs the year before and he disappeared there too.

The issue is with Ausar and Duren, Pistons spacing is awful and it’s easy to take him out of games. Ausar makes it up being a terrific defender and making hustle plays. Duren doesn’t make up for it and the team was often better with him sitting.
