Haha so true. I feel like, other than the classics, Adidas’s designs are either incredibly bland or too out there. But they’re always very comfortable.

I guess enough to keep making them, but like 90% of amateurs wear Nike, so all the other brands are fighting for that last 10%.

I’m guessing Adidas is paying somebody like Mitchell peanuts though for that very reason. Bit of a win-win - Mitchell gets his own shoe to boost his personal brand and Adidas gets to market a shoe to fans of Mitchell.

I bought them for this years men’s league, and they are the comfiest shoes I have worn since my Kobe 5’s and for a very reasonable price($130CAD after using a discount code). The 7’s were one of the best shoes according to reviewers last year, and the 8 seem to be even better. Although, I sprained my ankle really badly(not the fault of the shoe) so I haven’t gotten a ton of reps in them yet, I did enjoy the few runs I did get in them prior to the injury.

Donovan Mitchell has had such a weird career. He has a bunch of accolades and money and has always led winning playoff teams, but I don’t really think people’s perceptions of him match his resume. That includes mine.

I think Spida might go down as the greatest basketball player to not be in the hall of fame

Edit: Damn people are very confident he’s getting in! Per bbref, he has a slightly lower chance right now than Rajon Rondo and Kevin Love who people talk about as edge cases. Also a lower chance than Shawn Marion, who isn’t getting in!

Donovan has had really good teams. Obviously not been on THE best roster in the league but he has had rosters in Cleveland that have been top tier. Jazz had good rosters relative to the league at the time too. What was missing was a superstar.. Donovan somehow gets paid and treated like one but his teams fall short for that very reason. He doesnt even take them to contender status..

This sub just recently has this giant hate boner for Mitchell and he’s done absolutely nothing wrong in his career. The media tried to twist that he was unhappy in Cleveland for years and he’s repeatedly stated he enjoys being here. He’s a consistent 24 PPG player on good efficiency for the past 8 seasons. He doesn’t miss much time. He’s not outspoken or weird about political issues. He’s had some very clutch games in the playoffs this past year including a 35 point game in a must-win game 3 being down 0-2 to the pistons, and then he followed up with a 43 point game in an also must win down 1-2 game. Has he won a championship, no. He’s still absolutely a great player in this league though.
