GOAT MJ drops 51 on the Hornets Dec 29, 2001
During his first season on the Wizards, prior to cutting open his hand, MJ was still a top 15ish player in the league.
he cut his hand right after they won the chip in 98the injury he had on the wizards was a torn meniscus but you’re right, he was top 15.The wizards were a 19 win team the year prior and at the time of his injury were the 4 seed. He also started the season kind of washed but was getting back into form as the season progressed, the last 10 games before injury he was averaging 30/6/6
I can’t stand people talking about Jordan on the Wizards like it was an absolute disaster and some massive stain on his legacy
He was legit really good!
You’re right, timeline got messed up in my mind. I had the injuries reversed.
yeah biggest diff was that he was no longer locking people up on d
At the time this made him the oldest player to score 50 in a game, but now he has fallen to 2nd on that list. If LeBron could put up 50 this season he would smash the record.
The mentioning of Lebron in a Jordan focused post, or vice versa, because that happens too, is so tired.
Folks there’s no such thing as a goat with as much as the game has changed (many greats didn’t even have a 3 point line). There are only greats within eras. MJ was great in his era. Lebron was great in his era. Just let it go.
This directly relates to the post.
