It’s not victim mentality. Some people intentionally set their expectations low and expect the worst on purpose. When you expect to win it all, the regular season can feel like a slog. When you have low expectations, it can make it easier to just enjoy whatever happens.

I just gotta say, it’s really weird that most people have them as a second round exit when that’s the same result they had last playoffs before adding Brown and LeBron. This sub talks all the time about how LeBron is still really good (most seem to have him as a top ~20 player) and how the Sixers fleeced the Celtics in the Brown trade. Yet neither of those guys are expected to move the needle in the playoffs?

The term superteam has more to do with how the team was constructed than the actual strength of the team, at least that’s how I understand it. There’s been plenty of failed superteams over the years, 13 Lakers, 14 Nets, and 22 Lakers come to mind, but they’re all still considered superteams because they were all formed by star level players joining forces in the offseason
You have a very broad definition of super team. They’re not even the best team in their own conference, let alone the NBA.

Lebron will certaintly be the PG. Maxey has always been better off ball as a pure scorer rather than a facilitator. The main benefit to adding Lebron is he gives us our most creative and skilled facilitator outside of second year not fatsuit Harden, but even then I think Lebron is better.

But yeah I see Bron feeding Brown/Maxey/VJ on cuts as the best offense for sure.
I think people are going to be surprised how often our lineup includes Dean Wade. The top 5 guys have a SF/PF issue in terms of who’s going to be playing there. I suspect the Wade signing was to get a dirty work PF type guy who’s going to play significant minutes and someone like VJ will give way to Maxey/Bron at guard lineups offensively.

It depends. I could see it going two ways since both LBJ and Embiid don’t play B2Bs. Either they could play the same game of a B2B and rest at the same time or try to divide up who plays in each game. Obviously the second would have much lower games with the full starting 5. But I think option 1 is more likely - it’s worse for regular season record but better for prepping for the playoffs and team chemistry
