Yeah, top of the league is strong, bottom of the league has no incentive to tank so the only real losers are the teams in the middle.
It’ll be interesting to see if their continuity can hold them steady; minimal roster turnover should help them in the short term, but I’m guessing there’s no shot they end up with a better record than last season unless they are miraculously healthier by the end of the season.
Porzingis really should just retire but I guess when you make $20m to play like 30 games a year it’s really hard to retire lol

The initial injury seemed like the kind of thing you don’t ever truly come back from, let alone return the next year. I hope it somehow wasn’t as catastrophic as it initially appeared.
Yeah if you look up the dozen players who’ve had that injuries the best case is Victor Oladipo which is not a good case. Moody doesn’t have any athleticism to lose. His career’s probably ruined.
Yeah the history of players before and after a patellar tendon tear is pretty bleak. Basically not one player has ever got back to the level they were at pre-injury.

And for what? lol no one is taking \(20m in basically dead money without draft compensation. IRCC they *could* have opened up the full MLE had they not resigned KP. Could they really not find better value than KP at the \)15M MLE?
Possibly, they wanted a max slot open next offseason, which currently will have but wouldn’t have if they went the MLE route bc only $3M of KP’s salary is guaranteed next year.
