Honestly, I think they’ve given up on the post-Curry era. A few years ago they were all about the two-generation setup with the idea of having a post-Curry future, but now with Poole and Wiseman washed out I think they’ve resigned themselves to just tanking once Steph is gone. The only real chance at a rebound is spend a couple of years in the tank and get lucky.

They really tried it before with the two timelines thing, but it just didn’t work out.

Being a superstar on a great team leads directly to advertising contracts. I don’t have statistics but we all know its true… the really high paying commercials go to very popular players who are winning, from any sport.

My point is, that for superstars, sometimes I wonder if its a bad idea, taking a max contract, so the team hits the salary cap before they can bring on other top talent.
