[Scotto] Sources: The Dallas Mavericks signed Dwight Powell to a one-year, \(3.88 million deal, including \)1 million partially guaranteed and another $500K if he makes the opening night roster.
Dwight is a pros pro. Like, most people think he sucks but he is just so elite at setting picks and rim running, even now. He never complains and is a solid vet. Im not sure he will make the cut since our center rotation is maxed out.

Feels like this offer may at least in part just be a thank you from the Mavs - and imo a well deserved one - but i’m not sure if this org has that kind of grace. People shitting on him have no clue.

I think it’s always a good organizational move to have a random guy like Powell that just sticks around forever. Never someone you need but someone you can rely on to put in good effort, be a good locker room guy, and never play outside of his skill set. His continued presence on this team is probably the one good move the Mavs have made over the past few years lol
