Bill Macdonald will be the team’s television play-by-play announcer for the 17th straight season. Color Commentator Stu Lantz, who missed time last season for medical reasons, will return for the 2026-27 campaign and join Macdonald for home games. Danny Green, who won the NBA championship with the Lakers during the 2019-20 season, will be Spectrum SportsNet’s color commentator for Lakers road games.

During telecasts, Mike Trudell will continue to serve as a sideline reporter, and he will share those duties with newcomer Roqui Theus, the daughter of former All-Star guard Reggie Theus.

In the studio, Chris McGee will host coverage along with Hall of Famer and 1988 NBA Finals MVP James Worthy. On various nights, Green, Robert Horry, Derek Fisher and newcomer Sasha Vujavic will join McGee, as will Mike Bresnahan and Allie Clifton.

Danny Green only spent a year with the Lakers and won titles with SA and Toronto as well. So I would expect him to continue the tradition of being relatively unbiased on the mic. I thought he did a good job when he filled in for Stu a few times last year.

So many broadcasts this year won’t be the same, tragically losing Stacy, to Dundon note offering a good deal to Calabaro, to now Stu only doing home games. It’s going to be a bit weird with all of the old broadcasters I grew up with no longer in the game. Hope Stu is able to do better with the lowered traveling!

Ofc we’ll miss stu but i like this. I think he just has a bit of issue when he sounds like he’s eating(which can be improved with more exp) his words but his takes are fair at least and he does commentate about the play happening.
