it’s felt like a safe bet that they would be back, but now that the DAZN deal is in place they probably just got their contracts to make it official.

Dell Curry is Charlotte basketball, he’d straight up retire if he had to go elsewhere, i’m sure of that. I could tell the couple times that the FanDuel network had them commentating on non-Hornets games, Dell straight up was not into it.

Eric commentates a bunch of other games, even in other sports, so there was a small part of me that was worried, but not too much. he seems to love Charlotte and is an absolute favorite of everyone there.

I wasn’t too worried, especially since the hornets basically said from the jump the number 1 goal was to get the hornets on free local tv and the second goal was to get Dell and Eric back.

But there was always a chance they wouldn’t come back with how highly they’re held in regard

Until Kemba (whose jersey retirement should be next) broke all his records, Dell was the Hornets’ all-time leading scorer, is still the only player to ever play a decade for Charlotte (the only real successful decade of this franchise’s history), and has been the TV voice of Charlotte basketball for the 17 years and counting.

He’s far from the greatest basketball player to come through Charlotte but he earned the recognition on his longevity with the team. It’s got nothing to do with Steph

Dell Curry averaged more than 15 points only in 3 seasons as a Hornet. Was never considered even a top 40 player in the league. Holds no records with the team.

The reason he got his jersey retired is the most obvious pitch to get Steph here in a season or two. His career here never was close to being retirement worthy and only was given to him cause he works for the team now and has a famous son
