Wasn’t the nail in the coffin for Lonzo that one of his surgeries didn’t go well? I remember him posting a video many months after a surgery where he still could barely walk. You can blame a lot on his Dad, but I’m not sure a failed surgery is one of them.

He’s still 28 and all he’s known since birth is basketball, it’s not easy to give it up despite all those things, people do this shit but athletes do this from childhood, giving it up is not that easy especially at fucking 28

Dude…Lonzo worked his way back from terrible injuries and major post-surgery setbacks. If he didn’t work his ass off, he wouldn’t have made it anywhere near an NBA court again. Sadly, by the time he did work his way back, it was clear that his body was never going to perform at a high level again. But horrible injuries aren’t an “effort” thing. He tried harder than most player ever have to just to be able to run down a court again.
